[4.04] - Crashes crashes and more crashes with DX12...

+
I would like to be able to enjoy this game by enabling ray tracing and frame generation to match the hertz of my screen for maximum fluidity. But the situation is unbearable, crashes every now and then, most of them occur when loading a game or starting it, when equipping/unequipping or dropping items from the inventory. When using fast travel points or exiting/entering buildings. Not to mention all the bugs of course.

For the sake of answering future typical questions...
  1. Yes, I have the latest updated drivers, what's more, it's a clean install since I reinstalled Windows 11 yesterday.
  2. No, I don't have any overlay enabled. The only thing I had enabled was Ansel, so I went to the NVIDIA profile inspector and disabled it from there, but it still crashes the game (obviously that wasn't going to be the cause).
  3. No, I don't have mods installed.
  4. Yes, I have tried disabling DLSS 3, but the problem persists, not as often but it persists even with ray tracing disabled.
Here is some detailed information about the crash and information about my system, in case anyone knows what is going on.

You have information about my whole system, are the developers going to do anything? It's unbelievable how passive they are, they haven't even said anything about these problems.

For the time being I will have to play in version 1.32 or this one but in DX11 mode, which is unfair as I paid for the game to be able to play it in full.

Hi!

I have the exact same issue, even the same error code. I thought I was going crazy because other games had the same issue for me.

Lowering my ram speed fix this issue in other games, but for the witcher I had to enable "run this program as administrator" so it won't crash in loading screen. The only way my game crashes now if I swap items in my inventory.

Set your game to "run as admin" and see if that helps a bit.

It's a memory problem, it's either running out of memory space or it's trying to access Protected Memory Space AKA Kernel Space. When that happens Windows will shut down the application (and sometimes even crash the OS) because an attempted access to Protected Memory/Kernel Space is considered virus-like behavior so Windows pukes trying to protect itself. A memory leak can also cause this. It could also be caused by having too small of a Page File

Today, I reinstalled my Windows 11,
updated BIOS,
turned off AMD fTPM,
reinstalled Nvidia driver,
reinstalled Steam and The Wither 3.

I played for less than 5 minutes with DX11 and crashed as always. And DX11 is not smooth at all.

I don't have any requirements for image quality anymore.
As long as it can be played normally, I can accept the lowest effect.

So, I change all the settings to the lowest.
Using DX12, still crashes.

Now the game is not playable at all.

my pc:
AMD R7 3700X
32G RAM
RTX2070 SUPER

The game also crash if you start a brand new playthrough?
Did you use mods previously?

There is a more recent BIOS for your MB and it says this in the description

"Improved memory OC rule and compatibility. "

Which would be your XMP profiles for your RAM and could possibly make your XMP memory overclock more stable

Huh? I didn't even overclocked my RAM. But it's DDR5, maybe that's the cause?
