Ability Points

I am new to the game at level 4 and 8 ability points, but I can not move any points to my character tree. Tried everything and starting to wonder if I should remove game and reload or trash the game. Very frustrating. Help Plz. P.S. If you move this thread, it would be nice to know where it went.
