Can someone help me with the Lore ?

hello guys

W3 is the first in the serie that i play, played W2 in its time but never finished it and i dont remember anything , i didnt want to read any starting guide for fear of being spoiled, so i have very basic questions about the lore :

ther's a war ? or there was a war between south and north ?

who are the temerian and the nilfgaardian ? what's geralt stance between these 2 ?

why peoples call geralt " nordian " ? any quicke background about that ?

Temerian is one of the Northern kingdoms. There are several of them.
The Nilfgaardian is the Southern empire pretty much like ancient Roman in real world, mush stronger, much more sophisticated than the Northern kingdoms, and ambitious.
The Nilfgaard invaded the Northern kingdoms at the end of TW2.
Geralt, as a witcher, is neutral to human politics, so he stands neutral.

Don't think it is Nordian? Most probably "Nordling" with a dutch accent?
