The Middle East version of the game will be within the guidelines of the local age rating bodies in both countries.
the 'middle east' specifically refers to Saudi Arabia and the UAE. but what 'within the guidelines' specifically means, I have no clue.
this one man put shaving cream all over computer screenWill there be an option to enable censorship in versions of the game for other countries?
When i watch what comment they write in a japan youtube channel talking about this,Exactly! If the US or any other country did this, everyone would cry foul. But since it's Japan, it's OK for many people. Don't know Japan get the special treatment.
When i watch what comment they write in a japan youtube channel talking about this,
almost 90% said they will buy a US import version if that can switch to display japanese UI and subtitle
uhhhhh...I'm glad CDPR aren't censoring it for everyone. I remember what happened to Outlast 2 in Australia.
Australia was like NOPE to that so the company removed it completely from all versions. The male main character was r*ped by a demon?
I hope that the Japanese fans of Cyberpunk2077 can all purchase a good uncensored copy of the game somehow (in a legal way) so that they get the full experience and do not miss out on anything good. My best wishes to the Japanese people.Hopefully Japanese fans can get easy access to a US or European copy of the game. Which also makes me wonder if the Japanese digital copy on GOG or Steam will also be censored.
You should be able to. TW3 comes with all language packs even as i have it in the USDoes anyone know if the Japanese localization will be available in other versions. Ie: Will I be able to use Japanese text and voices in the US version for example?

It is most of the time the law. Not a choice people can make. What if there was an option in the game settings for a censored mode, would it make censorship in general less likely?
Today I learned that it used to be other way around. Why the country has become so conservative is unknown to me~~but I lament at how the wheel has ironically turned. Feeling extremely lucky that I do not have to deal with such BS where I live.
Which country? Like I said before in this thread; Japan doesn't have a problem with nudity, they have a problem with showing genitalia. If we're talking about the US, it's arguable whether or not it's necessary/relevant to show a naked girl in a "kids" show, but even with that argument out of the way, the US is one of the biggest porn producers in the world, if not THE biggest, it only becomes a problem when we start crossing the line of what is decent to show on network television, and then what isn't, and that's an argument that has been going on for quite awhile now, violence vs sex and all that. Whatever the case, 2077 isn't censored in the US, but it is in Japan, which, again, is not something that should have surprised anyone. It's just something you have to deal with, or import if it's that important to you, or wait for a unofficial patch that will almost certainly come out.
And it's worth pointing out that it isn't just nudity that is being censored here, it's that 2077 is taking a pretty giant step forward when it comes to expression and is opting in for full frontal nudity, something that's actually very rare in the gaming world (when it comes to mainstream titles). T&A is common, penises flopping about isn't. There are a few exceptions, of course (Conan Exiles being the most notable in recent memory for me, which was also censored on consoles, even in the US, but not on PC), but this has always been a touchy subject, and it just happens to be even more touchy in Japan.
Just saying, but Isn't genitalia technically speaking the defining feature of what makes "nude" be "nude" by its very definition? The reason why I say this, is (To the best of my knowledge) that on beaches that are NOT nude beaches, many people are often able to wear extremely skimpy swim wear so long as their genitalia are still covered, and there are people that often wear the most revealing swim wear possible that almost essentially makes them 99.99999999% nude, other than the fact that their genitals are still covered, thus technically making them "not nude".
So the statement that Japan is fine with nudity but not genitals is very confusing for me.
The modern understanding of nudity is culturally complex due to different meanings given various states of undress in differing social situations. In any particular society, nudity is defined in relation to being properly dressed, not in relation to the specific body parts being exposed. For humans, nakedness and clothing are connected to many cultural categories such as identity, privacy, social status and moral behavior.[2]
