Iconic Contagion

I'm not sure if this a proper place to make it aware. But after getting the Iconic Contagion quickhack I compared it to a regular tier 5. I currently see no difference between the two what so ever. I maybe missing something or the description information is missing a part of it. Does anyone have any more insight of this being a possible issue?
 
Lots of people are reporting all kinds of inconsistencies with tier upgrading, so be sure to report it directly here;

I definitely did notice some pretty weird stuff all around with cyberware and quickhacks.

Try at the net runner shop at the Dogtown stadium. It's quite expensive though. I looted mine from a breach protocol though.
You also might be able to find the blueprint (100 legendary quick hack components needed to craft)
 
Just a heads up, I got quite a few "Iconic" quickhacks. I never bought a single one. So it's either from looting bodies and chests, or my suspicion is that I am getting these from jacking in to those data nodes and hitting the bottom two cyphers. Also, the amount of money this nets you is insane!
 
Just noticed as well that Iconic Contagion has no stat differences compared to regular tier 5. Cripple Movement Iconic, Short Circuit Iconic, Cybersychosis Iconic, Det Grenade Iconic, Overheat Iconic, Reboot Optics Iconic, Suic*de Iconic, Synapse Burnout Iconic (has a duration addon). The only other one I've seen that has the same stats is Sonic Shock. The rest of them in one form or another has had an additional bonus as Iconic.

It not only has the same description, but it also does NOT do the ignition explosion, despote it says so in the description.

This at least gives you some niche use if you are intending to kill with damage over time instead of the explosions. It's not all bad. The regular one can be a liability if keeping the civvies alive is a priority for you.

Altho this might be true, it does not change the thing that the effect does not match the description. Correctly.
Similar to 110 RAM cost at the description of Iconic Suicide, yet it costs just only 32 as regular.

Of course, they'll probably fix it at some point and then I'll have to find a mod if I want to do contagion + overheat for damage over time without blowing everything up.
 
Has anyone noticed that some cyberware gets even worse when upgrading?
Self Ice 4+ has worse random stats than Self Ice 4, e.g. tier 4 provides +8,7% decreased enemy vision, but tier 4+ only +2,5%.
(Not switching the set of stats of course, so it is still comparable)

Yes, T+ variants of cyberware (at least those above EPIC) are bugged and instead reduce stats. I'm avoiding upgrading cyberware until CDPR fixes this.
 
The Iconic Contagion quickhack that I just crafted in game v2.11, does ignite the gas if shot with some type of incendiary round. I think it's always been that the NPC affected by Contagion will not explode when shot with non-incindiary rounds. That is the way the game is now anyway. Is it possible that somebody was testing the gas explosion effect for the iconic contagion but they were using standard ammunition which does not detonate the gas?

From the in-game descriptions, the standard Contagion and the Iconic Contagion quickhacks are exactly identical. If there are any functional differences between the two when using them, it is not noticable. Maybe this will get fixed with a game patch eventually.

no the point is the contagion overheat combo.

does anyone know if this problem got fixed? i just wasted 100 crafting this and remembered and i should probably reload just before crafting it, right? if i go test it it'll be a whole thing
