Questions on The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update

+
Hello everyone,

I just made an account to ask a certain question but I didn't know to who to direct it to.

I stumbled upon a rather interesting news regarding the nintendo switch that it would allow graphics to be upgraded using AMD FSR technology (I hope this is the correct terminology).

My question than becomes twofold:

1: What can I expect from it realistically from a graphical/gamer experience point of view?
2: Will the witcher 3 on nintendo switch also benefit from this update or is it planned?

Kind regards,

Welcome @dwarsfluit1997 !

1.) I don't think that a comprehensive list of features has been released yet, but we do know that the work being done is not to "remaster" the game. It's primarily graphical to take advantage of ray tracing tech. It will likely improve draw distances on consoles, that sort of thing. Bells and whistles, not really a complete overhaul.

2.) I've not heard of anything that would affect the Switch. Likely, the changes there will be very minimal if anything. The Next-Gen updates for both TW3 and CP2077 were primarily aimed at the XBX and PS5. PC users should also benefit, though the changes may not be as noticeable. Something like the Switch is already at the limits of what its hardware can do.
