REDstreams #2

I'm still playing and loving this game, despite some of the bugs that are still there. But after well over a year past launch, it is time for new content, and i am hoping to hear something about that today.
I'm also hoping for more V modifications, especially ones that are post character creator.

The gaming industry at large has painfully taught us to lower expectations as much as possible, so i am doing that, but it's hard not to have some hopes for a game i love.

I'm ready to beta test the next patch.
I hope the presentation isn't as cringe as the tik tok video they presented or the horrible patch updates in the past. Be humble and to the point is the best thing to do right now. All that said I have zero expectations and trust, prove me wrong.

Is it? GOG offline installer for Kingdom Come Deliverance is ~50GB. HD texture pack is ~6.5 GB.
We'll see for ourselves soon enough, anyway.
If I refer to "numbers" that I see/have, we talk about size increased by about 30 Go on a 60 Go game. It's quite massive :)
(with counting on the regular update probably included, I waiting for a >40Go update...)

(Or the sizes on the store are wrong and it's a mistake, which is also possible^^)

How does the size the guys are quoting compare to the pc version? I assume you already have all the textures there?

To be honest I'd be more than a little excited if the extra space was taken up with Havok engine extensions

If this is no mistake, then it is massive. But that still leaves the mystery of 20GB difference between XBX/S and PS5 version.

Offline installer for 1.31 is 106 GB, but it has all language packs bundled. When installed it's only 61.7 GB in size.

Sure. We'll see.

If they were stupid and decided to make all the environment textures 8K, which probably wouldn't even run decently on a 3090Ti above otherwise low/medium settings if at all, maybe... Textures consume a considerable amount of space for sure, but they consume slightly less space per unit as the size increases as well.

That be said; increased texture resolution is last thing you want to emphasize when you're optimizing AND improving visuals, that context is especially important since this image is from the current gen console update. The game's textures on PC are just fine at high already btw. It's also the first thing to be wrangled when you develop a multi-platform with an actual difference in quality when it comes to PC v Console because of how intensive it is on the CPU & GPU v. how easy it is to perform a batch reduction in size. The difference between PC and console game size at the moment is likely consumed by texture size already, so roughly 7-8 Gigs. Standard fair.

I'm the last person to try and hype this thing. I'm making an objective observation. That's not a texture package.

Why do I feel like a major upset is about to happen?
Isn't it about the perfect time to announce Q1 1.5 isn't happening?
Boy do I hope I'm wrong.

They announced delays about 6 weeks prior to deadline, didn't they?
I doubt they'd be doing that on a live stream, you only have to look at the response on twitter and reddit to the stream announcement to see that doing it this way round would be corporate suicide. Delays have been announced quietly
