I just wonder when CDPR will notice this forum thread and tell us "We heard you, we will fix this and add a happy ending for V"
The lack of news and them not addressing this is worrisome.
This game is not about changing the world for better, but your own life.Well, RPG lable and trailers lied to you. If you prefer to be dissapointed and powerless to change things, be one, it's so meta (we are talking about world, ravaged by capital, where common folk, street samuraj included, are powerless to change the world to better).
I state that the romance quests are very beautiful. But I agree with you, in my opinion after finishing them they should have been more engaging. Romance had to be made sense, even with miniquests. For the endings I haven't seen them cut off. Already when V wakes up on Vicktor's bed, Vicktor already tells them you have two weeks to live maybe, he lives six months and that's okay tooagain fine for you. We don´t want to take anything away from you, we just want to enjoy the game as well, but in it´s current state, for most people in this thread there is nothing. nothing to work for, nothing to gain by playing, zero replayability! I don´t understand why you hate the idea of giving us something to enjoy the game too, especially since it wouldn´t hurt your experience one single bit. but some people tend to be egotistical, not wanting others to have any kind of joy.
Yeah I agree. I hope they left story where is right now just to contiue it . If they pull BS like that last one you said I will be beyond pissedTwo thougts on that.
First, CD red really has other problems than that at the moment...I think Idon't need to explain which ones
The second thought is ... I remember the Mass effect Shitstorm. And Bioware took really a long time to react to the shitstorm, and when they first did, were very rulctant to adress any concerns with anything else than "this is out story, we wrote it that way, its art, deal with it" - until the pressure was too strong, and they added some half-assed new ending and produced the useless Citadel-DLC as bandaids...
So....as far as I am concerned, one should not hope CD red changes anything just because a couple of players that actually cared for the story and chars are upset about the bleak hopeless endings to our main chars.
If anything, the biggest (and to me only hope) is that CD Red wants to continue the story of "V" from these endings with a DLC.
However - I think it is still important that CD Red sees the reactions - so that such a potential DLC does not again end in some "artsy" ending like "V" sacrificing herself to save millions of people, get uploaded to become a super AI and nothing else...
All people really wnt is the option that "V" flips the bird at fate and can live on as a normal person again...the only option that matters - oh, and please without a "catch" like you have to choose between your own life or that of your friends/lovers or some kind of cheesy bullshite like that...
I just hope we will get some response at leastAfter looking into it a bit more, I figured that the story was meant to be like this all the time, especially if you watch some of 2018 gameplay videos. What I do not think, they intended to end the story this way. I do believe that in near future we will get the way for V to survive.
And the game is not that short, it's about 25-30hours long if you skip most of the side missions and other activities. I think what they were going for is completely different than TW3. They went for a game that would server multiple playthroughs, that is why there are life path choices, but since game is lacking a lot of content, these lifepath choices has no impact in the game as they intended to.
I bloody hope not. It's gonna take them few months at least to fix up most of the bugs and old gen. Not sure when they will release a roadmap, but doubt they will strictly follow it with what is going on now.Yeah I agree. I hope they left story where is right now just to contiue it . I meant if they dont wanna change story or remove 6 months to live bs at lest give us a dlc where we can continue fight with our own V and maybe find cure. If not that then stories must not stay like this. For me this alone kills any wish to play again this gameI bloody hope not. If you go to the space ending, with the casino, in the credits River calls you that Joss had made a meal and you´re invited to come. Also you can hear Joss kids call you "aunt V" in the background. made me so sad, that I wasn´t with them. I just love River and his family, their so well characters.Do the 2 guys break up with you in the space heist ending? If not, maybe they split who stays with you, 2 on that ending, 2 on the nomad one?
Integration would be very nice honestly. That is what I imagined going thorugh romancing option. Only thing I got was "notfing special same ol, same ol ; I'd rather hear about you" line -.-I just thought about how Witcher 3 handled your romances and realized they are pretty similar.
You meet both romance options through the main quest where they both get short introductions.
Especially Yen is an entirely new character for the player if they did not read the books, although she is referenced a lot.
The main world building for both (esp. Triss) is done in optional side quests where you also lock in the ship and get the sex scene.
Pretty similar to Cyberpunk right?
Now, what Witcher 3 does better is the integrarion into the final battle. Both are by your side for some aspects of the last act.
That alone makes a huge difference. You do only interact slightly and the resolution of your romance will actually only be shown in the credits.
So much for the basegame. Ofc, there is B&W, but that is pure, glorious fanservice and wouldn't be fair to compare to Cyberpunk at this time.
My solution:
Integrate your romance into the 3rd act, like Panam was.
Have the option to call every single one before the showdown. Have all of them agree to your plan just because they are loyal to YOU.
Let Panam and River assist you in combat or let Judy be there on comms and open doors for you. And do not just have them say, "Come on V!" 45 times.
Then show the state of your romance in the credits like in the Nomad ending.

For me best ending, because it´s the only one that gives me hope, that I could return back to him and his family! as for Panam and Judy idk. But i remember from this thread they break up in that ending.That...actually sounds like an okay ending? River does not abandon you.
Is this similar for Panam/Judy?
I got the impression that these two break up with you in Space Heist.
They break up. Only way to stay with them is nomad endingThat...actually sounds like an okay ending? River does not abandon you.

so we have 2 endings to work onwards to make them matter! Nomad one for the boys and casino one for us girlsThey break up. Only way to stay with them is nomad ending
Its still like 10 days after they launched this game. They might even land in some nasty lawsuit from investitor dicks (I read somewhere that they have been lied apparently). They might not even know what they want to do next. I am still entering here on a few hours hoping I might see "We heard you, we will fix this and add a happy ending for V" . But hey they need time to fix consoles, then bugs then maybe story
This a bit off-topic, since it doesn't directly affect the endings, so maybe I should post it elsewhere. But I was thinking about why the Original V vs Copy V debate feels kind of hollow to me and I think it's (at least partly) because there's no demonstrable difference in how V behaves before and after being 'copied'. There's nothing you can point to and say "this is what was lost, this is why you're less than you were." But there could've been a way to avoid that (though some adjustments to how the biochip and mikoshi work would be needed.)
Alright, so imagine that when we start the game there are No life paths. No dialogue options. We just get dropped into V's life and move her around as we follow the script, but we make no choices for him/her.
UNTIL you wake up in the landfill after the biochip restarts your brain. Then the player gets dialogue options and other choices. Now the player's own actions and choices (in contrast to the 'original' V's) act as a clear way of demonstrating how/that V has changed after being 'copied'.
(It might be nice to have a much shorter first Act in this scenario)
Whats the point of RPG? What was the point of sayin that I decide?Writing a story is art. It cannot be broken or fixed per se, it can only be a good one or a bad one (a readers subjective opinion). Just like a song: would you go scream to a musician to fix his/her lyrics because they are too depressing? A more adult way would be to accept that you are not the main audience of that song.
The investor lawsuit seems to be normal "throw everything at CDPR and see what sticks" kind of endeavour in this totally ridiculous situation that has blown out of proportions. Company management has to re-establish trust with the investors/owners and it is its own battlefield. Should not read too much into it.
Like you are trying to say to me that I am not adult enough because I was expecting to have a chance to decide what happents in RPG?Whats the point of RPG? What was the point of sayin that I decide?
I think you're missing the point of the debate : are you only alive based on your memory and experience of the world ?
What is a Soul then ? And why the Soulkiller would be only copy / pasting ?
That's a deep question, a very interesting one (which doesn't explain why endings are that bad).
From my perspective, V (or Johnny) is alive even as an engram, as the body would only be a vessel. But it's just my point of view.
Okay let it be that way. I am not adult enough, I would not mind ending IF they said its linear story. Why give 7 endings with similar end? To die? What is point of that, like uh i get to decide what is my favourite way to dieWhats the point of RPG? What was the point of sayin that I decide?
