Star Citizen

I don't even watch Vanguard videos. I can only take so much temptation...and bitter envy. How much does it cost right now?
..IT'S NOT EVEN FOR SALE!!! ARGGGH.

Last time was about 350$? I remember that much. If it would be about 200$...Such a perfect ship, and I imagine it would be a great exploler as well.

I really thinking about to pick up that Freelancer though. It is very tempting, and having the ability to test out the Connie before 2,1 goes live is an another plus.
Being a Star Citizen is not an easy task isn't it? So much temptation...

The pricing on ships in Star Citizen makes no sense, trust me. In terms of capabilities, the Vanguard is on par with a Freelancer or a Cutlass, but it's priced on par with a Banu Merchantman - a ship that's 3 times larger. The Gladius costs $90 - 30$ more than an Avenger or 325p. But both the 325p and Avenger are better combat ships. Basically, CiG charges whatever they want for ships and gets around it by saying, "You're not buying a ship, you're making a pledge." I wouldn't expect the cost of ships now to be comparable to their cost in-game once Star Citizen launches.

I know, that most of the ships prices are nonsense, but if they price the Vanguard way cheaper, that would make no sense either, because way more ppl would own it.

So, I have a 'lancer. I AM WEAK! I hope that it will fly good. In terms of stats it should be better for me, longer range and all. I cannot help myself, I love the Aegis ship degsin so much, that I already missing my Avenger. I gonna pick up one in January.

Oh, no not at all.

Right now, they're priced for sexiness - a luxury buy.

APPARENTLY, they are all going to be relatively available in-game for everyone, not just the grinders.

Elite had not-bad ship accessibility.

No, I want one now just so I can fly around in it...now. Sigh. NOt for $350 though.

Might be you are right. As a side not, I don't really like Elite's ship degsin though. If you ask me the Vanguard should be flight ready soon. I mean it is even have the booting up computer voice in the hangar in PTU. Ohh boy, I going to stole it every time when I see one.

@AutumnalWanderer I don't think you can go wrong with a Freelancer at this point. Just look how sexy you're new ship is! :D And it'll be flyable in 2.1.

edit: i did a comparison of the old Freelancer vs the redesign and the difference is very noticeable. So it ain't just our imaginations.

@Phinnway Yeah, she is pretty sexy, and have a nice arse. 2.1 supposed to come next week so I will be try out her soon if they keep their word. So it have jump capable engine, size 5 power plant and shields and loads of missles. Sounds good to me. You two would be my escort then :D.

Btw @Sardukhar which ship do you own now?

Sure, why not? Or maybe we'd all be pirates and your Freelancer could be the bait? Now THERE is an idea! ;)

Nah, I am not really a pirate guy. I won't be aggressive player, but if someone want some pain, I want to hit, and hit hard.
I seen, that you actually pledged, which pack you ended up with?

@AutumnalWanderer Avenger Stalker. Seemed like the right choice. I must say, I wasn't a huge fan of the Avenger's look. But now that I own one I love it. Star Citizen seems to have that affect on people. Every ship is just so unique. Once you own one you feel a sense of attachment to it.

The ship design are great. I love how they seem to be influenced by modern day aircraft so they have a kind of grounded look to them. I wonder how easy it'll be to buy new ships with the in-game economy and whether it'll be feasible to own multiple ships in your hangar.

Yeah, this was the reason why I struggaled with the upgrade, because I had so many good moments with my Avenger. Don't judge it just yet, it will became way better as soon as CIG fixes the red/blackout bug.

@Garrison72
Yeah, and every manufacturer have its own stlye and line up.

It is gonna be nerfed if you ask me. I hope that the patch goes live soon, because I want to try it out :D.

I NEED this, such a beauty...

About the 'Lancer. I want to like it, and I will be spending most of the playtime with that ship as soon as it goes live. To be honest, I would melt it, iif CIG launch an bigger Aegis ship within the same pricepoint, with bed, of course. I cannot help myself, I love the Aegis ships degsin. If the Redeemer would be cheaper, I would go for that one for sure. But since the "Tali" base model is the cheapest bigger sized Aegis ship out there, I stick with the Freelancer. The Tali is a lovely looking ship, but you have to have at least 3 other ppl around you which means it is not a great choice to me.

@AutumnalWanderer Yeah, the 'Tali is a horrible choice for a solo ship. It's even worse than the Constellation.

On the bright side, the 'Lancer is similar in size and power to the Vanguard and Redeemer. So once the game launches you should be able to upgrade to one of those ships for very little in-game cost. Think about it this way.... by owning a 'Lancer you are preordering a Vanguard :D

I cry with need.

Whoever asked, Autumn or Phinn, I have merely the Mustang Omega and the 300i.

I like the 300i, but it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay underpowered. Sigh. THe Omega is fast, but also weak..and too skittery for me.

I've flown a bunch and I like flying the military Hornet quite a bit, because ridonk firepower and the Constellations I keep stealing are pretty cool.

They had the fly-them-all week a few months back and really only the Hornet stood out to me, for lovings.

I want to try the Sabre, soon. Sooooooooooooon.

@Phinnway
The Connie is managable alone for now, I do it since I own the 'Lancer :D, but it causes a huge server lag to me. Oh yeah, I calming myself with the same reason :D. But what if I upgradeing to the Freelancer DUR, which means that would be my exploler, the Vanguard would be my long range figher, escort ship? Sounds good to me. I will stick with the base model though, because I want to re-pledge my Avenger Titan because there is option for your melted stuff to buy back. The Redeemer is far from flight ready if you ask me. They need to rework almost the whole interior of the ship to match the Aegis line. I will get one in game just for the sake of owning one. :D

@Sardukhar
I was who asked that. The 300 series are good ships, but not for me. I had both 325A and 315P for some time, but I better liked the Avenger, so I went back. Personally I don't like the Mustang series, but the Beta have very nice living quarters. In fact, that one is the best ship in the small size.
The Vanguard will be flyable in 2.2, in fact they wanted to be able to fly in 2.1 but someting is not ready. My guess would be that the Sabre will be ready soon as well.

The Hornet is a nice fighter. I've been eager to try out its dive-bombing counterpart, the Gladiator. Whenever I imagine Gladiators and Hornets working together against Javelin destroyers it reminds me of the space battle from Star Wars eps 6. Maybe throw a Connie in there to represent the Falcon :)

Or maybe not.

So far, their light capital ships haven't really impressed me. The Falcon is a lot cooler looking - in no small part because it doesn't partake of the "I'm a rocket ship!" arrow-style design.

Most of the SC multi crew ships are some variety of penis or brick. Or comboed. Bricknis.

I suppose some of that is because they have to go in-atmo...or..something?
