The Weird World of the Witcher
Installation:
Simply put this in your C:\Users\Public\Documents\The Witcher folder. It's the folder with m1_module.adv and other modules. When you start the game go to New Game -> New adventures and select The Weird World of the Witcher. It's available here, http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher/mods/679/? and here, http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-weird-world-of-the-witcher. A youtube video of it can be found here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTT9DyenU1Y.
This mod only contains dialogue, nothing more and nothing less. I've created a few hundred new dialogue lines using the audio editing
program Audacity. This way I've gotten the major characters (Geralt, Azar, de Aldersberg and Professor) to say some very funny and surprising things.
However, I suggest using subtitles to get the most out of it, since that strengthens the suspense of disbelief. In several cases you can hear quite clearly
that a dialogue line is made up of several separate bits of different dialogues, but I've focused on fun dialogues and worried about how awkward it sounded afterwards. Any tips on how to make the mod better/less rough around the edges is appreciated. This is my very first mod and that probably shows, heh.
When I saw the video of MadGangster's mod, the Malkavian Mod for Deus Ex 1 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-faAQIjbJZE), I thought
that it was simply great. The creation of new dialogue isn't technically advanced, you're just limited by your own creativity and the available voice files, so I decided to do a mod like it myself. Especially, after the Malkavian Mod stopped getting updates. I wanted more, but couldn't find anything like it (well, there Deus Ex: The Recut, but that's just a video). Now there is another thing like it and I might expand upon it.
Acknowledgements:
I did everything myself, but would never have gotten anywhere without the Djinni Wiki, http://djinni.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page. Thanks to all the people who made contributions to that site. Yet again, map props to MadGangster for inspiring me with his Malkavian mod for Deus Ex 1.
