We need more endgame

+
The carjacking repeatable quests were definitely a step in the right direction.

Here are some more ideas:
1. map control quests. Basically you have rep with both cops and local gangs. In japan town its the tiger claws for example. The local gangs spawn more gang members who hang around a zone over time. Eventually, if V stops going back to a specific zone, the gang takes over and declares its authority. Once this happens, V can reassert NCPD authority by killing gang members, and doing quests to kill gang leaders which are tricked out with high end cyberware. These quests come from the local fixers. Optionally, V can kill cops, which makes him a very wanted man. At a certain point, the gangs offer V quests to kill local ncpd leaders and maxtac security personal who also have cyberware. Once this happens, V can expel the NCPD precinct in the area, and becomes permanently wanted in all areas that have existing ncpd precincts. V can go back by killing gang members until the NCPD reestablishes a precinct. In addition, V could do quests for a given gang against another gang. Once this happens, gangs can take over nearby city zones.

2. Working man quests. We have a pickup! Why not allow for delivery driving quests?

3. More carjacking! Why cant we steal a car, and turn it into a chop shop that converts car wrecks at a rate of say 2 per hour into item components?

4. Money drains. Why can't V have a reason to make money? Support a family/wife/gf/kid. Support an orphan. Support a local gang. Support a politician. Who cares, but a need for money beyond increasing skills would be cool for end game.

5. Component drains. Why can't V have a component drain? Have quests where components get turned into money without being turned into weapons?

6. Why cant we do anything with food delivery/construction?

7. Why can't we pickpocket civilians?

8. Why can't we charm civilians and talk them into joining our cause? For example, give them a gun, talk them up, and introduce random people from the street to various gangs and induce them into a life of crime to take over the city! Or have them join the ncpd, or our very own trucking company?

9. Why is there no stock market?

getting a normal job to get some extra eddies would be really neat. and reed had a normal job as a bouncer so why cant v get normal job.

Even just some of the same contracts in different places and some optional parameters (make an assassinations look like an accident, no alarms, super quick, no other kills, knock out and retrieve, etc) would be nice. Different jobs can be tied to the different fixers.

1, 2, 4, 9: yes
3, 5, 7: couldn't care less

8: that would be awesome. V builds their own gang, with their own color scheme. Sends members on missions, competes with other gangs, et cetera. Never will happen officially, but maybe there's a very slim chance for such a mod in the future.

Some extra content would be good.

V is a merc, there should be merc work on a mission board similar to the mission boards in Starfield.

Some of these are interesting, and most of the ones that are interesting were already a thing in Saints Row (at least the third game):

  • Stealing random cars: Not for parts, but for keeps. In SR3 it was very simple since the cops never hunted you, but yeah when your skill is high enough actually basically successfully doing the tutorial gig for Kirk would be good. Actually stealing, "washing" and selling expensive cars.
  • Deliver people or items from place A to place B. With or without interference of gangs or cops (basically up to you if you want to take a low-paying gig with low chance of interference or a high paying one with lots of dangerous enemies)
  • Car Jacking of marked cars: See above; Saints row had this as side gigs, You could go and make money by specifically stealing cars someone paid you to steal. In SR3 the biggest challenges were actually the odd cars, like a tow truck or a mail van; slow cars that had a very hard time outrunning police.

Idea from SR3 that could be reworked into less zany schemes:
  • Appearing in a reality show on TV (the one in SR3 was literally deadly; think Hunger Games meet something the Joker invented but nobody was forced to do it, or the wrestling quest-line where wrestlers were allowed to have baseball bats and chainsaws (yes, deadly ones). I imagine something like "Watson Whore" but instead "Life of a Street Samurai" or something. With stupid challenges, V realizing the fights are set up for product placement...

While it's nice to sit around and come up with cool ideas for this game, it's never going to happen. CDPR have placed Cyberpunk 2077 onto life support. That's it. They're done adding content, and have relegated the game to patches, period. Most of the devs have probably already moved on to working on the next Cyberpunk game, and the other Witcher titles. Sadly, we won't be getting anymore new content for this game.

Reed had a normal job to use as a cover to help him keep a low profile. V is hellbent on making a name for themself in the short amount of time they have left so, if anything, V wouldd take on more merc work to boost their rep rather than waiting tables or whatever.

I don't know if anyone expects this game to get any of that or anything else added at this point. But, it's fun to discuss and, who knows, maybe some of it makes it into a new game down the road.
