Who replaces Gaunter in White Orchard if HoS is not installed?

Just curious. Since he helps advance your search for Yenn at the beginning of the game, who replaces Gaunter O'Dimm when you meet him in White Orchard if the expansion is not installed?

He has always been there, even before Hearts of Stone was released, we just did not know that he is actually an important character.
