Cyberpunk Soundtrack

+
don't have time to dig through all of the thread so sorry if reposts

these always come to mind for me for the cyberpunk bar/club that we all know will be in the game:

and then my all time classic "time to get shit done" song:

Personally my favourite track of DE is the Synapse, although that one is very asian inspired.

I also loved the theme for Chicago in Perfect Dark, a game that came out the same year and shared some elements with Deus Ex.

Another track that I wanted to share with you is this Jailhouse Rock from Oldboy, one of my all-time favourite films which has an amazing OST. It mostly consists of different rearrangements of the same original waltzes, but this one sounds pretty cyberpunk. I recommend you both watch the movie and hear the OST.

Just let me share the theme from the famous "corridor scene" and a couple of the waltzes I was talking about.

Someone's probably posted this already, but here goes:

There's also a neat retro style music video:

I don't really like that kind of music (I'm mostly a metal head), but I love the 80's vibe and there are some nice melodies here and there, and I think it fits rather well -- at least for certain scenes. Not all tracs though, there is some heavier than necessary cheese among there.

Then there's also Lunatic Soul:

Due to finding this trailer som months ago...

...I managed to find Mitch Murder (who did/is going to make music for the Kung Fury "film"), who did this "re-score" of the Cyberpunk 2077 teaser trailer below. He did it 2 years ago, and it seems like none of us here knew about it! Atleast I did not! o_O

And due to the Kung Fury trailer I also found a group called Lost Years (which also is on the soundtrack for Kung Fury). I don't know if Lost Years have it's own youtube page (like Mitch Murder has)... but I did find this video:

Don't think it is an official "music video"... but due to finding it, I found the youtube channel that it was uploaded to. LuigiDonatello, who uploads a lot of 80's inspired music from a lot of different artists, and from a lot of different styles... like Synthwave, electropop, retro electro, etc.

.

I really love how this sounds! This re-score actually might be one of my favorite things posted in this thread!!

One thing I am a huge fan of is when the music sort of contrasts with the scene and makes it that much weirder. If you've ever seen Helix there are some examples there.

This is an example of what I mean, the music does not fit but that makes it much creepier in my opinion. Obviously this type of thing would only appear in the game once or else it would get repetitive.

Upon looking it up I've discovered that this is called Soundtrack Dissonance.

How, HOW is the Silly Walk Song Cyberpunk? Or MARIO VAN PEEBLES?!

HOW.

Or the Pink Guy song.

HOW?

And if they ARE Cyberpunk, what -isn't- Cyberpunk?!

Because their all edgy and counter-culturey in some way.

The Silly Walks song has a cynical disposition and pokes fun at the mindset of office drones.

MC Van Peebles's song is a spoof of rap songs, starring a douchebag with an overinflated ego who gets legendarily blueballed.

The Pink Guy song has a cynical disposition and a lot of obscene language.

And since Johnny Rotten does not approve of punk getting a specific dress style, might aswell go for something normally not associated with punk.
