Does actions after the ending continue? (spoilers in post)

Does actions after the ending continue? (spoilers in post)

What I mean by this is, after I've completed the ending. Does it really revert me back a chapter? Does my actions not count? Is Ciri not Empress when I'm playing and doing the sidequests?
If this is true, I really think it is stupid. We should have some kind of dlc that makes us interact with the characters after the ending.
