Game continues during loading screen

Spoilers follow

During the quest Precious Cargo, once uncovering the merchant as the killer, he flees. But I am stuck in a loading screen while he escapes, automatically failing the quest for me. During the loading screen my controller rumbles frequently and by the time the game has loaded, I am under attack by several wolves and have sustained significant damage.

I've just had the same issue as you. Failed the quest, as I was unable to catch him. Happened on PS4 btw. Wonder how Geralt couldn't sense the wolves coming :hmm:

Did you try reloading an earlier save game?
