Game Won't Start.

I just got the Witcher today, installed the reccommended Vista hotfix and 1.2 patch from the website. Any time I start it up and hit New Game, then select the two options, once it gets to the loading screen the game will never start. I'm sure this has been posted about to death, but any way I can fix this?
