Hoping for a Dev response. [Option to Avoid Sex and Nudity?]

Alright let me get this out the way first to cut down on some of the inevitable under thirty, juvenile flaming before I post my question. I'm hoping for a real answer and not just the toxicity I know those without a few grey whiskers cant refrain from pouring out.
I'm 42, married 20 years this fall with 5 kids and my oldest is 22. Not afraid of gore, I dont have virgin ears and I've seen a boob ( or two in my time).
However I do have a wonderful wife, who tolerates my gaming hobby and the multiple thousands of dollars I have invested in my rig. Not going to ruin that on one game.
She dosent care about exploding heads, blood and gore and the language she cant hear on my headphones but............
What wont fly, now or ever is hard porn, soft porn, sex scenes, or stripping. I dont want it and she wouldnt tolerate it anyways.
So.......I was able to thoroughly enjoy TW3 and basically skip IT ALL. Skipped ALL the whore houses. Refused intimacy with any character and passed on any questionable cut scene. I loved TW3 and didnt need or miss ANY of that.
I'm really interested in Cyberpunk 2077 so my question for a Dev, with the exception of an occasional short glimpse of some nudity, aka last years demo, can I accomplish the same in this game as in TW3? or is it going to be constant and unavoidable?
No big deal if it is, I'll just move on to a dozen other games I can get excited about. I just dont want to get all pumped up and into somthing I'll end up having to refuse in the end.
I'd rather someone at CDPR just tell me now so I can shelve my enthusiasm and avoid disappointment.
I'm sure you understand.
Yall are fantastic and this game looks unbelievably incredible.
Thanks.

Yeah, I imagine Cyberpunk 2077 is a game you might want to avoid if nudity is an issue. We will have to see exactly what options the game gives the player, but it is safe to say there will be a fair share of nudity.

Well they've seemed very confident that the game wont be rated AO, so I think you'll be alright. Probably something similar to TW3.

It's what I hoping. I essentially was able to play as Geralt the celibate and respectful to women Monk through the whole game and loved it. Took nothing away from the game or the adventure in the slightest.
Problem was I tried to find that out months before the Witcher 3 release so I could pre order, get into the lore and build up the excitement towards release. As it was, on the official forums I was flamed away and assumed it wouldnt happen. Until months after release when I read I could go through the whole game this way.
Then I bought it and had a great time but lost the fun of the build up to it.
Is all I want to find out, and I sure more than a few middle age men with wives and teenage daughters always around and watching, would also like to know....hint hint any dev reading?Throw us a Yay or a Nay so I can pre order?
Anyways, thanks for the polite responses guys.
Cheers.

As I'm not bothered by it myself I can't speak for anyone who would have a similar viewpoint, but at a guess, I will say, wording like "inevitable under thirty, juvenile flaming before I post my question. I'm hoping for a real answer and not just the toxicity I know those without a few grey whiskers cant refrain from pouring out" likely won't help you when it comes to avoiding the flaming. Again, not personally bothered by it, just pointing it out.

The regulars on these forums are almost unequivocally polite folk, even if things get heated from time to time. So I don't think anyone will get too upset. :)

To the point, I respect your concerns, and I think you're probably in the clear. There's a "skip" button for most (all?) of the "scenes" I saw in the 48 minute demo. While the game will be unabashedly mature, CDPR is generally quite good about handling nudity in a way that makes sense for the game's world, and is often avoidable.

Of course, also worth noting that this is a pretty seedy city, even by Novigrad's standards in TW3. I would not be surprised if you will be required to walk into, say, the Red Light District or a brothel and see a few topless characters to progress the main story. To be clear, I'm not saying that will be a specific quest objective, just that it may be on-screen while you pursue other goals.

Out of curiosity -- and this is not me trying to get personal, but to better understand your concerns -- is it that she doesn't want to see the stuff herself or for your children, or does your wife simply not want you to interact with it at all? Again; no personal interest, but if it's the latter, I think you might be out of luck. If it's the former, I think you should be fine.

I wouldn't hold your breath for a dev answer, but maybe you'll get lucky.

It is a role playing game and you are a yong single (fe-)male.
You can skip scenes but not the hormones.

To snowflakes question.
No it not personal. It's both issues frankly. For her and for me.
I may have to wait and see then. Man I want to get pumped for this. Especially with the rig I have.
I'll just have to wander around Star Citizens Arc Corp and pretend its CB2077 until I can know for sure....:).
Thanks all.

Why not play the beginning of the game and some of the sexual scenes with your wive and let her choose. Just in case they are not skipable.

@TheOnlyDoor

I quite don t understand the issue with nudity, i suspect you ll have quite the fair share
in Cyberpunk 2077. If you are both totally okay with gore and violence and bloodsheed all over
the screen, why is it that nude skin causes trouble? Or shown intimacy....

Ok lets let alone the pure obvious reason of arousal and fun when such things are shown.

Don t you think shown intimacy and with that nude skin as ultimate sign of affections between
2 game protagonists, is making a nice contrast to all the violence and brutality in Night City?
Why would you "cut out" such a counterpart to the cruel world of Cyberpunk. *shrugs*

Just becasue V and the other models in the game (nude) are not up to your standards?
What ever they are, because nude skin and sex is disturbing? o_O So is Gore and
Violence ....

Why not just enjoy the game as what it is? Why not laugh, play together and just have fun
or even get kinky....

Hm to wrap this up, i highly doubt you ll be able to skip nudity (and sex) in CP2077
It is part of our life and it is part of Cyberpunk, my personal suggestion here is, if you
are really really interested in this game, just enjoy it, with all the flavors and flaws
it ll have. (from your point of view)

It ll be a hell of a ride, i am pretty sure of that. So long

Topless is where I stand. CDPR doesnt need to go for full nudity, porn, whatever stuff. Also I think the chicks should be quite hot if they ever want movie deal.

I also must say (as European or German; different mentalities I suppose) that on second thought it is amusing how basically blood all over, gore, mass murder and death on a large scale are seemingly okay, but lo and behold if there's a completely nude body or a (non-explicit) sex scene.

Now please don't get me wrong, I'm not taking a jab nor trying to start a debate about another topic here, I simply wanted to express my mild bewilderment about some different preferences or priorities that I do not want to judge further. Preferences, in the end, are different, but I personally consider gore (that I am also fine with) to be more of an issue.

But anyway, I so far assume and expect that while CP77 may offer certain dialogue or general options, it won't necessarily be forced upon you to the level where you enter a certain act, nor do I expect you will see this around every corner. But general nudity (demo from 2018 as rough example, with the bodies) might pop up on occasion. And perhaps there will be a cutscene or situation where you are not even involved but see other people ... well, you know. Even if briefly (I refer to potential stripping or, maybe, mild sex scenes). Can't rule it out myself, at least, as of this time. Even then, maybe you can skip that.

Unless you get a clear response from an official side that is able to respond to your concerns, my own suggestion would be "wait and see", or "when in doubt, buy and try". Can't be that bad, I assume. I also doubt a few of such scenes that will likely not be very explicit in any way either will really be an issue compared to the overall narrative and plot of the game.

Hey,

there is nudity in the game when it makes sense (we don't want to shoehorn it in just for the sake of it, because that's the opposite of making a mature game), so most of it like romances will definitely depend on the choices you make for your character.
However, due to the open nature of the game and the world, there will be some occasions where you will see some nudity. I would roughly compare it to how it was handled in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Kudos to you sir for raising your concerns. Just look away where it’s unavoidable. We all hope you get to play this game and enjoy it.

You respect one another’s feelings and requirements which is beautiful, all the best to you and your wife.

Hi,Married,54,wife and I have 4 daughters.Oldest is 28. I would expect it'll be like TW3,maybe a tiny bit more in pushing the envelope in nudity and "violence". Its all just pixels on a screen imo,but I hear you. I am very anti censorship, but also curious how/if it gets answered.

Yes indeed. I've never understood the double standards or questionable moralities. How sex which is the most natural thing in the world, without which we wouldn't even exist, is treated like taboo while people are getting shot at and die and nobody raises an eyebrow. How in this trailer people get shot at and die, but swearing words have to be *bleep*ed over. SMH.

But different countries have different standards, its unavoidable.
