Patch 1.5 & Next-Generation Update — list of changes

+
Could we please get DualSense proper support on PC on a feature patch?

There is no reason not to enjoy glorious Global Illumination Ray Tracing togheter with the superb haptic features of the PS5 controller at the same time.

Hey Man. The update was really cool, tho I'm still waiting for the story DLC. But still, this update keeps me here.

One thing wants to ask. Hope that someone can answer. Of course I have completed the whole game, and I know there is an update about when players finish all the side quests, the commissioners will send out gifts to V. Cars I have received, but how are the rest? what are they? stored in the inventory, but nothing show up said the items are new. Now I have 3 side missions, which are all about storing new items in my inventory.

So the next quest it's "With A Little Help From My Friends" ?
So how many time, hard to say :(
(skipping time is not really effective)
Anyway, it seem better to ask in this thread. If you have any question about Panam and her quest line, if someone know, it's there for sure :)

With some of the storymissions, seems like certain amount of ingame days need to pass (online guides say 5) before the next mission comes up. And I think skipping time doesn't affect this but Im not sure. It could be the same with Panam

. On ps4 there are is still the ultrapixelated shadow of V on metalic surfasses, like on the elevator;
. On this patch the best image I found is in HDR for the first time (and messing with the TV settings)
Post automatically merged:

the lighting overall is much better but one strange thing now (ps4 pro) is that when you speak with a main character the light sudently changes into this better lit scene. Before this change didn't happen or it was more gradually implemented. This is bad for immersion as it now seems like a cutscene you activate when saying the next dialogue line

These are mostly observations on PS4 1.5 (Slim with internal SSD), though there are some bugs which I will highlight in bold. Over previous update versions I replayed the game around a dozen times, so feel I know the game's quirks pretty well.

Firstly, intro movie runs choppy, worse than before - very badly. Don't understand why, as it's a pre-rendered video file.

V's footstep sounds really exagerrated, as though they are wearing diving boots. Klomp klomp klomp.

Game looks as though it has received a visual downgrade? It looks worse than before. Textures are blotchy, in photo mode I observed them moving - like resizing? in real time (weird, will try to capture this) very low-res, weird particle effects, shadows, reflective surfaces - as though screen space reflections have gone crazy. Looks like a moving watercolour painting sometimes.

Not seeing an improvement in performance either, in case that was the indended tradeoff, overall seems worse.

Dialogue subtitles persist after lines are spoken. Example: Jackie's "Shoot V, shoot!" lines from the Scav chase stayed there well after I arrived at V's Megabuilding.

Stealth feels broken, enemies are seeing me and unconscious bodies through walls, floors even when their backs are turned.

Car engine sounds very quiet.

Perk points resetting after saving my game and reloading later.

Could not scan Yorinobu's datapad during Evelyn's BD until I had quit/reloaded.

And the little "squeak" when you turn around (like plastic boot on a smooth surface) :D
I sure you did it (and not sure it's work/available on PS4 slim), to clear the cache (because it a lot of problem "in no time").
Haha, yes I'm constantly thinking the amount of noise I'm making will alert gonks when I'm trying to sneak (maybe it is? Hmm)
Yeah cache is clear, fresh install, new game/save.

I just realised I posted this lot in the wrong thread (should be ongoing bugs I guess? OOps)

Ok, I suspected that you already did it ;)
So yeah, good to report to the support anyway.

PS : Hit the "report" option on your post, a nice mod will move all the messages at the right place ;)

Am still very early, so just sharing some observations/questions as they come along. First of all, heck yeah, I feel I'm playing this game for the first time. Big thanks to all the dev teams for the amazing work. It's great to see this turn around happening.
. Has the camera zoomed in quite a lot or only on some places/instances? The first time and the most flagrant was in the street kid prologue when the cops show up, the whole scene is much more compacted. the cop cars are closer, the Arasaka and his goons, everything. (ps4 pro).
. So far I really apreciate the graphic overhaul for the platform, everything that is on the screen is again much more uniform in quality; I hope the main character models can take an upgrade on next patches without sacrificing elsewhere. Regina face to face was a little scary.
I had many more but they'll come back to me later. I'm'onna play some more
I'm on Xbox One X and I wonder if they narrowed the Field of View. I can't say for sure as my last playthrough was about 6 months ago.

Something else I noticed, recalibrating gamma made big change and for me it looked like 1.5 reset that setting so perhaps worth to check that out on PS too.

They fixed weird quirk T-Bug model had in Afterlife. Strange saga that one. In day 1 version scene played differently to Streetkid and Corpo and whole environment was different, Nomad V was sitting in different position, face to face with T-Bug and from that point of view it looked amazing. Then on Streetkid and Corpo (1.24 and 1.3) run V was sitting in different position and from that angle T-Bug animation just before she rises from couch had this thing that would require quite special spine or something. And that's gone now, they fixed it!

For me, I have that feeling too that I'm playing the new game. I'm thinking how things like this, they appear little but they are very important for keeping player in story and something I think only games can do. I mean short scene and T-Bug doesn't have much screen time but her characters voice acting is amazing and now this animation thing has sorted out and this character works again like on my first playthrough, voice acting and character animation, they are like oozing who and what is T-Bug. Amazing they didn't overlook things like this. Way to showcase talent!

Has some of you reached level 20 and beyond or continued an old save putting tge perks in and want to share thoughts about dificulty? Do you become overpowered at some point?

I reached the level 20 (just now^^) and what to say... A real pain in the ass to kill 50 scavs in Pacifica with Skippy in puppet mode (I'm dead more than in my entire last playthrough^^)
And as far as I remember Pacifica is a level 15-20 area... So I'm definitively very weak :D

Well, I just launched the game on my Series X, started a new game and after a 15 mins of gameplay, BAM! crash to home screen.

I'm not gonna try any further. See you in patch 1.6

Hum... Almost 38Hrs on my Series X, and no crash at all.
Have you try to clear the cache ? (good idea after an update).

Would be great to see a 30fps some kind of resolution mode, without ray tracing but with higher average dynamic resolution on PS5 and XSX. Please consider this possibility.

Anyone know what this is about...?

Seen this on my GOG feed too. Absolutely no idea what's going on there.
Yeah, clicking on it gives an error screen, right?
It's probably just a mistake or something, but in my wishful thinking it's some sort of teaser for a DLC ^^'
