I'm a newbie so be nice! I've got some quests that say I have to have something in Beastiary before I can complete them. What does this mean? Did I miss something in the first Chapter?

Either buy a book from a book sellelr than gives information on the relevant creature or find someone who will tell you about it or give you the book (possibly as a quest reward) . Once you read the book you are free to sell it to any merchant who will have it since you know what it contains.

You also can find books in some houses, read them to get the entry in your journal!

Also, you can talk to some people and learn about some monsters from them. This may require the "Monster Lore"-skill (not 100% on that). So talk to a lot of people, it's always a good idea.
