Not a word about "no matter what". She reads out the current diagnostics.
And the diagnostic is :"you're dying."

And yet she's not a medbot. She may know how to hack any network, but she may not know how to cure gonorrhea.
It doesn't even matter. She has lived for 50 years in a digital world where there is no medicine and no need for cure. She can hardly know anything about modern medicine.
Do you really think that Alt who spent more than 60 years as a ghost in the machine would be more limited that a vulgar med-bot you find in any ripperdoc shop ? Really? Cause if that is the case, I'm sorry to inform you you have absolutely no idea how vast Alt's intelect and fields of knowledge are, and to what databanks Alt may gain access to, or what expert systems Alt may consult, in less time V. need to cough some more blood.

Arasaka is a bad ending, the devil's false promises. All their words were lies from the beginning.
It is possible that this "cancer" is the result of Arasaki's surgery. In other endings, there is no cancer, there are problems with the immune system.
Which is quite the same since your immune system just decided that your brain is a disease to be eliminated...

If you inspect the story as a story it self it misses most marks
- no hero journey
- it’s neither a adventure or character story
- illogical in its rules, even contradicting it self
- practically no purpose (since act 2 and 3 are basically a circle)
- no message (maybe besides life sucks)
- no villain (Adam Smasher fell really forced, is there for fan service from 2020 edition, Yorinobu ends up as a hero?, you can’t make a Johnny antagonist, biochip and City as The City are ridiculous).

From gaming story perspective it’s linear story, but the game was advertised that you can make meaningful choices and world is about saving your self.

it’s really not about Disney/Snyder thing. It’s just that this is a terrible story.

Where TW3 had all of those above.

It’s really night and day.

Someone probably pointed it, but still.

Perhaps there is no formed dissapointment somewhere except here because at current state Night City is not interesting enough open world to ever return to this game.

No argument here, i'm slightly surprised you've decided to explain this to me.

You know what it's funny? That's the players who complain about story are actually players who invested 100h+ into the game, got most if not all archievements and still wanted to play it again. While those who breeze just through main story and often not even that and just threw game away are the ones that thinks, that game is great.
I may only have invested 60 so far but I also deliberately stopped after having completed one run exactly also because of this.
Yes, I started a second run yesterday, but I'm basically screwing about in the lv1 badlands even before I meet Jackie because I don't want to pregress too quickly into it again. Meanwhile I've been coming here for that very reason: I care 'bout me V.

Interestingly, fixing the plot-cancer might fix lots of the other problems.

- your final boss and arch-villian is death itself
- contradictions would not really surface
- purpose would be there, because the epilogue dies not kill it
- massage "never stop fighting, because you can somehow make it"

It would not fix everything but at least some of the points raised.

I think that Takemura will call you for the parade after you help Panam with the Raffens, even if you haven't found Alt, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyways, during Panam's questline, V has a really bad relic malfunction and goes unconscious, and explicitly acknowledges that he/she hasn't much time left, that's why in my next playthrough I plan to do Panam's quest as last thing before the parade.

And I don't think you can do Kerry's stuff before meeting Hasako's proxy, but maybe I'm wrong
That also happens in the Judy arc. I think it happens in most if not all maybe?
I like it in a way becasue it signals to each romantic interest that is developing that V is suffering from a serious condition they did not (fully) understand up to that point. It also incentivizes some to want to help V, such as Panam offer for help.

Generally you can’t make a arch enemy something esoteric.
So you can’t make a death, City or a biochip since they don’t have the personality that could shape the relationship with the protagonists.
And this relationship is what is producing the tension in the story.
They can’t because they have no agenda.
Not at least in the mainstream release.
You can make a character story where it’s about the character and how he or she reacts to some unchangeable events. Like for ex death.
this was the premise of Nier Automata that was executed into the true masterpiece
but here it’s not the case and never will be.

tho with the rest I admit that removing plot cancer would fix most of them.

This is also why the plot cancer is so bad.

Yes, this is a diagnostic . When you get such a conclusion, you need to be treated / repaired.

Yes, really. This is completely not her field of knowledge. She left the problem of organics over 50 years ago.
I doubt that digital AI, cut off from reality, had the ability and motive to be interested in advanced medicine.
Which is quite the same since your immune system just decided that your brain is a disease to be eliminated...
This is completely different from cancer.
And, apparently, in 2077 people do not know a single disease or drug that suppresses the immune system.

Funny how none of us would be here if not for that 6 months thing. It's so unnecessary.
Also I don't see how surviving would be a happy ending. Seems like a neutral one to me.
You start out as a hobo merc who wants to be a legend, and get used by someone to get a chip. that chip makes you ill. Now you go look for a cure. If you had found the cure and lived the rest of your life as a hobo merc then that's not really happy is it? It's just neutral. You are alive but just that.
A happy ending is when you find a cure then become a legend. Or am I missing something?

So we aren't really looking for a happy ending. Just the neutral ending would be fine.

Hi everyone,
I've been following this thread for some time, and I'm with 95% of people here. For me in Panam ending there are lot of hints (what Panam said at the dam, what Cassidy have said, the Iliad shard, that gear in a locker that we cannot equip, even that V lost all of the money, and we do not have any of gear we collected) that what we have seen is just the end of act 2/3 or "Part 1 of Cyberpunk 2077". If I recall correctly in the Polish version that epilog is called something like "New beginning". In my opinion, devs should put "To be continued..." at the and of credits in "most canonical endings" (Arasaka-corpo V/Panam-Nomad V/Legend- Punk V) to indicate they are working on expanding the story, but with pressure from execs and press they had to come up with some solution. Without this statement, the game is too open-ended, and we are just left with our predictions and hopes.

You got me with that open letter.
I also think that this sums up quite how I'm standing into it all. I have to assume that the search for a cure (or whatever it will be) is premeditated and in such case, then this line of though would have my preference.
Well, that saves me the trouble of writing it down :p

hobo merc is all I ever wanted from this game. that's the dream.

Even if we take that news that they had to cut over 40Gb of content with a big grain of salt, that may indicate they planed a larger world map around NC, or another map were in "Part 2" you will pursue to find a possible cure. 40+Gb is the logical size of quite a big map with high-quality textures and sounds. 50k+ lines of dialogues sound about right for one big DLC with the new area.
