BG3 is a very good game, one of the best i've played. I even backed it and supported the developer in early access. But the problem I had with BG3 is, all those abilities and stats. I only know the basic of DnD but i'm not a person who goes indepth about stats, abilites and also what race does fit certain roles the best. So, I always end up with a messy build or whatever.

I also tried to watch tutorials, but many are hours long which scares me away aswell. I work around 45 to 60 hours per week, if I also need to watch hours and hours of tutorials of a video game, that ain't going to work for me.

I'm just more of a sci-fi guy rather than a fantasy guy.

But since last week I gave BG3 a other playthrough with a different mindset. Like "I don't give a f...." about all the abilites and stats. I just choose what I think is right, even though I might up with a hybrid build or whatever and see what will happen and adapt to it.

Right now I have way more fun in BG3 to be honest. And yes, I do agree that BG3 needs a photomode ASAP.

So here is my new human rogue.

EDIT: I just downloaded the photomode from Otis. Just showing off my fresh kills. :p

Yeah, as long as you play in exploration or normal, you don't really need to "think" about your build(s). You should have fun anyway.
But things can change if you go in tactician (or honnor).

For my very first character (exploration), I simply pick up an human bard which can do pretty much everything and is rather good at everything (a kind of "Jack of all trade" character), also which can speak to animals and deads. Along my progression, I simply pick up what seemed right and/or what I needed. It was great and fun :)

Now that I quite know what I'm doing and where I want my character to go, I switched to tactician and started to "build better" my character and my companions. I just learn while playing, I don't feel I need to watch videos (but maybe I should^^).

I'm currently in the same situation on W40K Rogue Trader. I'm not sure what I'm doing, but I'm in "normal", so it should be fine and I have fun so far :D

Slighty annoyed that I cant even use Ansell in BG3 and it has no photomode. I have to make do with screenshots from dialogue scenes.

And yes, I'm playing a Dark Elf, as if that was going to be a surprise(just not wearing Minthara's armour, which seems very popular. My character isnt evil either if you were wondering).

If I understood correctly, Larian plan to add a photomode and it will be awesome :)

From all the races I tried/played, Drow is the one which differ the most to the other. Many dialogues are very/totally different due to how NPC perceive drows (I played a "nice" drow too, most of NPCs found it surprising^^).
