The studio needs our support!

+
I mean, they don't need a kickstarter with goals if they get paid more, they've got your money already. This is all rep at this point, whether it's earned back enough to sell expansions or new titles or not, based on how they deal with the outcome of this launch.

Sure, but if they want to sell those future expansions they have to keep users happy by being very clear about what they are going to do with the game

No, they need to dismiss the CEO and the management team, stop crunching dev to death and making unrealistic deadline.
Now they will have to deal with their mistake and I am fine with that.

like i said on steam, and been insulted for that :

if there is a petition, from us true gamers, show me where to SIGN !

VIVE CDPR. CRAZY JOB BUILDING NIGHT CITY ! RESPECT. ^^

Why do they need our support? 13 million copies sold, with 8 million pre-orders is nothing short of the most dedicated support fans have ever shown to a game company. These figures were achieved with the goodwill generated by their previous games, but also on the grand promises that CDPR put out over the years, especially through the marketing towards the end.

They failed to deliver what was promised, but far worse, they actively lied and prevented honest reviews of a broken product. Gamers weren't the ones forcing CDPR to release the game early - CDPR admitted to this themselves. Gamers weren't the ones forcing CDPR to lie to Sony and Microsoft to get certifications on platforms that CDPR was well aware of being unable to run the game. Gamers weren't the ones forcing CDPR to actively promote last-gen versions of the game was being a great experience.

I am typing this as a PC gamer who eagerly awaited the game and have a PC that exceeds what CDPR recommended for 1440p Ultra. I received a broken product, full of bugs and terrible performance. I look at the 4 million copies sold to players gaming on last-gen consoles as a huge insult to the game industry and gamers as a whole. Wasn't CDPR the one who said "We'll leave greed to others"?. How is actively lying about your product to 4 million customers anything but greed?

No, CDPR does not deserve support. It deserves honest criticism for its failure and shady practices.

i think there a BIG MISUNDERSTOOD in CDPR PROMOTION & WHAT GAMERS HEARD OR EXPECTED !!!

i can understand some PC GAMERS "almost raged" for the "1.0".... BUT ITS SAME IN REAL LIFE : DONT WAIT MUCH OR YOU'LL BE DECEIVED. (deception , sry my english)

here ? its probably THE game i always waited ! but i never watched interviews, newswire etc... LOL I WANTED DA SURPRISE ^^

and i give a great 99% note to CYBERPUNK 2077.

BELIEVE ME, what they promised, u will get it ! free dlc's & paid ones, the final product "GOLD" (and or GOTY if u prefer),

let them WORK.

actually they fixing also consoles issues with both Sony & Microsoft.

be patient.

my 2 cents....

also probably important for consoles players : if u play it on consoles, (i playing 2077 on old pc 2010 in 720p..), i think u should replace the hard drive by a SOLID STATE DRIVE (SSD) on old/new gen consoles... JUST A SUGGESTION FROM MY EXPERIENCE : got a SSD on my playstation 3 lol, to play RDR 1 which is better than the 2 online.

SSD are cheap, give a try...

edit: lower also your console resolution to little...

I just want what I paid for.
An RPG Game with a great immersed World and decisions that affect that World, life and people around you.

I want what I paid for.

Better i don't found other words from myself for it. Specially if i see that and what many different "happy" Endings are possible alone with that content which is already in the game and possible by the Cyberpunk Lore.

In General i'am only disapointed like with the most PnP to Video-Game Conversions in the last few years. Me plays Dungeons & Dragons and BattleTech, both since the mid 1990's. My husband, too. While he turns GM while he has done his military service time. From both of our experience with PnP Games and our professions as electricians (my husband is PLC specialist, so he knows about programming / and me for Troubleshooting and Sensor Tech) , we both know that there wasn't more than 2-5KB worth of data work to do atleast 3 Happy Endings for (currently at our 2nd play through) two of the three main starting paths. Thats was the paper/data work is saying. If you count in animations, textures, motion cap, studio voice recording, an so on , you may or not may ended up in up to 1 or 2 weeks more work (and estimated about 10-40k more in production cost, depending on studio/gear/personal fees) .

So, iam willing and able to support CDPR about Cyberpunk 2077 ? Yes. But its up to the Studio to be willing to accept and take that support, we as customers and community are offering. Other than we as V in the game, CDPR is given that option for an Happy Ending in more than 1 Path.

I already supported the Studio with my money before release by preordering. Not that satisfying investment but i don't regret it overall.

Anyway i think one has to specify what or who you actually mean by "the studio". I totally support all the devs and hardworking people individually involved in the making of this game but can't really express my support for "the studio" as a legal entity when i look at the product, so to speak, at this point.

Right now it seems like /r Reddit posts are getting more attention than this forum. Which is sad. I dont post anything on Reddit because it's basically dog-feces. Anyone can upvote a comment on Reddit for cash or add bot/fake upvotes just to troll.

This forum seems to be the only way to support CDPR outside of sending them money. If they want our help I'm sure they will ask for it. I'm a superfan of CDPR - if there's a better way for me to support them in addition to posts on this forum, please advise.

If there ever was a time this studio, this team needed our support, now is that time.

Pilling more and more hate on Cyberpunk seems to have become the norm and it shouldn't be. I've been buying CDPR games since The Witcher 1 and they have never abandoned their game. They have repeatedly shown dedication for every single one of their releases. Launching massive overhauls and Enhanced Editions of games way past their launch date. TW1 and 2 both got massive Enhanced Editions, The Witcher 3 was continuously updated for years and received 2 of the best expansions ever released in gaming for bargain price while EA were selling us lootboxes and multiplayer in all their RPGs.

We should be supporting them, we should be rooting for them. Not kicking them while they're down. This hatred doesn't affect the shareholders, it affects the devs that have worked on this game the most and continue to do so. What this team has achieved in Cyberpunk is monumental, despite it's shortcomings and will only get better.

CDPR is not going to abandon the game, they're gonna deliver everything they promised and more, but it's up to us to not make this process a living hell for them. It's up to us to be the best community for the best gaming studio which they still are.

There's know reason to ever side with these companies. All of them are entity's that are built to make there bottom line, profit, and to appease the investors, not the consumers. But what's even crazier with CDPR is that they even lied to them. Whatever they can get away with, especially game companies, in order to edge out any amount of perceived growth, status, or revenue they will. What they did was flat out scam us. It was scummy and they don't deserve our trust, let alone loyalty, they destroyed it. For the pass year an a half the marketing compared to the product they delivered is egregious and a flagrant disregard for public reaction. Just pre-order numbers.

But none of this is towards the dev teams. I have know doubt that with proper management, time, and healthy work conditions, this game would have gotten as close as possible to what we wanted.

Yeah this forum is beaming with support... /s

I've been observing the different Cyberpunk communities and the official forum is by far the place where they get hated the most.

On Reddit it's mostly memes now.

The YouTube community is the one enjoying the game the most, especially videos of the soundtrack and the story. People are really being very positive.

This forum though? Read through the comments of this thread. It's kinda sadge, not gonna lie...

I gave my money to the studio in three Witcher games and multiple GOG purchases and this game in faith that it would be what was promised. Cyberpunk 2077 is far short of what was advertised and is censored on top of that. I will not support the studio in the future unless they go into Hello Games Mode and put back in the cut content.

I guess it makes sense. It's their official forum, so people who want to complain, they come right to the source. That's what I did... though I like to think I give constructive criticism, rather than plainly complain.

Speaking of different platforms, for what I've seen, Twitter is far worse than this forum. I pity whoever manages Cyberpunk Twitter account.

as i told people in the {spoilers} ending thread: don't be so quick to bury cdpr just yet...the moment they start acting just like EA then you can "pack up and leave for good" until then...not just yet.

Unfortunately, you cannot support one without supporting the other. The suits at the top and the developers in the trenches make up CDPR.

Furthermore, one cannot it exist without the other. The developers in the trenches probably don't have the business acumen to bring CDPR to where it is now (before this crisis anyway) and the suits at the top probably don't have the technical knowledge to create the games CDPR has become known for.

You can't support one or the other. It's CDPR as a whole or not.
Which is why I did not refund my game. Morale-wise I support the devs and those in the trenches. They deserve praise as well as copious amounts of money for what they have had to deal with.

But the PR department (which is AMAZINGLY skilled at subterfuge and false advertising, cause clearly millions of people believe they gave us what they had advertised for several years) as well as the suits who alter the artists creations before going to market does not have my moral support.

They made back their investment, and then some, which is ultimately what they care about. They need no further support via money.

The criticism, often labeled as "complaining" in order to gas-light people into thinking it has no merit, needs to be listened to, and the game needs to be improved.

Frankly, if they stop after bug fixes, the game is not going to have a legacy. It will be popular for a couple of years, then fade. Over 1/3 of the content, gameplay elements, and in-game activities were scrapped even after showcasing that it worked and functioned.

Fixing the broken police is not "content" either. That's a bug fix.

What they DID do amazingly is the graphics, look and style of Cyberpunk. The voice acting is spot on. The main story NPC's are remarkable. But for long-term playability, the Open World is where it needs to shine. Some players will grind through 3-4 playthroughs to try out different styles, but if a game boils down to the only difference being Pistols vs. Shotguns without any additional content, it won't last.

Payday 2 has lasted because there is a slew of new content every so often. So even the basic premise feels fresh and new with new maps, new gameplay elements and higher difficulties. Fallout and Skyrim last because the open world elements are so vast, that you actually FEEL the game differently with a different character build.

I pre-paid my money for this game. I'll sink in about 300 hours into it over the next 6 months. But after that, I'll have seen virtually everything the game has to offer. Adding in 4-5 new side gigs will not bring people back.

Then next year, when the modding community adds in things the studio has not, I'll come back and support the modders who take the time to add in things like wall running, climbing, barber shops, vehicle customization, and 3rd person perspective.
