Yes. But they dd not go into details on those. Go to https://cyberpunkgame.tumblr.com/ . Click on video that responds to the question “Will there be mini-games or other types of activities to immerse yourself in Night City?” The ones listed in the FAQ plus "target practice" were the ones they mentioned, but they implied there were also things we could do when we want to relax.

Perfect. I was just looking for that implication at least. Thanks much.

There are no card games, confirmed in an interview with Yong Yea. We don't know about stuff like pool, but Yong specifically asked, and they simply discussed shooting ranges, boxing, and car racing, nothing else (but again, card games were a for sure no).

Furthermore, they seem to have outright ditched most of the lifepath options -- now it's only a background choice. Were you a nomad, a street kid, or a corporate? There's nothing else.

Was just wondering before I buy the game that if I buy the physical copy and get the map and other goodies. Can I also activate the game on Steam so I can collect the achievements there?

I don't think this is right. Which interview did you get get this from? Maybe I missed it.

Stealth aside, CDPR elaborated further on the RPG systems of Cyberpunk 2077, including the "Lifepath" mechanics that have been carried over from the game's pen-and-paper source material, Cyberpunk 2020. The Lifepath system lets you create your character's backstory, choosing things like their childhood hero, where they came from (were they a street kid or a former Corporate employee?), and various other important details.

I actually wonder if gambling like in casinos can be a thing or if laws bring up issues with this.

Otherwise I look forward to it. I miss it from Fallout New Vegas.

Nope, the physical/retail editions will come with game codes for CDPR's own platform, GOG.
You can add it manually to the Steam library, but that will not enable Steam Achievements or those card thingies.

Rawls, you are correct, to the best of my own knowledge.

The quoted user seems to confuse lifepath and starting class choice.
We'll be able to chose both, and they are separate things -- lifepath choice defines your background, the "Where you come from"-part of your character, whereas Solo, Techie, etc, are your starting class/configuration, the "What you are now".

I just wanted to ask, as I'm an aspiring artist, if maybe you will re-print the artbook and sell it separately sometime after the game is released. While I'm aware that we will get the digital artbook with the regular copy of the game it'd be really nice to have a physical copy of it in my collection.

P.S. You don't ship retail copies to my country so I can't get the CE here

Obviously I cannot answer for CDPR, I can only share with you that they at least did not do this with the CE for The Witcher 3... that said, you might want to check eBay as well after the CEs have gone out to their buyers, maybe someone would be willing to sell just the artbook... hell, you might even get lucky here on the forums, just asking CE owners if they'd be willing to part with theirs.

I know that some of the people I know of that have pre-ordered the CE are mainly interested in the statue and not so much the remaining stuff, which is why I already asked them if one of them could at least sell me the metal keychain car.

Good luck, should you want to try this approach as well. =)

No, there was no confusion.

No outlet who has seen the new preview has mentioned anything other than a single lifepath decision: your background. Nomad, Corporate, or Street Kid.

In the original 48-minute demo, you had three different questions. Your childhood hero, reason for coming to night city, and one more I can't remember (may have been background?).

Now, the question is, were these extra options omitted for the sake of the demo, or has every single outlet simply magically missed the other options? Or, third option, maybe they were indeed scrapped outright.

I should very much think that this is the same thing as with the Bloodlines 2 demo where also only the most rudimentary of character creation, i.e. simply "Select 1 of 3 Power Types" was included -- press wasn't supposed to test or spend ages on creation, they were supposed to see and report on visuals, gameplay, the look&feel basically, of the actualy game proper.

Sure. Generally, though, I'm a fan of working based off of the information we have.

Obviously, I'd like that to be the case. And CDPR seems to continuously prove me wrong whenever I say "I doubt X, because Y." So maybe I should just stop being so cynical in the first place.

We do not know. From what I can tell, these things were not shown in the new demos, or at least, nobody who has seen the demos (whose accounts I have read, and they have been many) mentioned their existence, nor have I seen them mentioned in interviews. But that does not necessarily mean anything, as both Rawls and @HMorisson have pointed out.

But form a game design standpoint, I can see the value in ditching the other 3 questions and focusing on making just one question really meaningful. I don't like the idea, but I can see the value, which is why I'm still torn.

I get the cynicism... I really do... Phoenix Point, Scammue 3... backer of both.

But CDPR, together with Larian, are the last truly good ones... nah, what am I saying, the last truly great ones.
After The Witcher 3, which not only as a game itself was a masterpiece, but especially had the most excellent DLC policy, had the most sincere customer appreciation experience, and had the most satisfying ending to an epic journey, courtesy of the phantastically beautiful Blood & Wine addon... I for one am 100% certain -- yeah, certain, not just positive -- that they'll deliver yet another masterpiece with 2077.

I've been with them since Witcher 1, they've continously improved themselves and their games, and even outside of the games, for spearheading the #FCKDRM movement, for not just talking the talk but genuinely walking the walk, having taken a massive risk with releasing their then only ever truly AAA title, TW3, on GOG without any DRM, i.e. potentially free-for-all for pirates... they not only have an opinion on DRM, they are actively taking a stand against it!

And for that alone, they have earned my genuine respect and loyalty.

I agree with everything you said there. When I say cynicism, I don't mean cynicism with the industry at large (though I do have plenty of that), or with CDPR as a whole. I mean specifically, cynicism regarding their ability to deliver certain mechanics.

For example, I never thought we'd actually be able to fully replace our arms or legs at all. And then the crazy bastards pulled it off. I never thought we'd be able to complete the whole game non-lethally. And then, what do you know, they do that too.

I've always been cynical about those things, and they keep proving me wrong. So, the list of things I'm not so sure about is definitely shrinking, but I still need to see more before it will go to 0.

The other choices may have been dropped, I hope not.

But when you consider the amount of work it would be to make each meaningful, i.e. more then the 1 or 2 times such things come up in most games, it's pretty significant, so I can see why CDPR may have decided to ditch them.

Snowflakez is right in the Yong Yea vid Mateus Tomashkevich says the only thing set in stone is Life Path @3:46 , he had the chance to say Childhood Hero but didn`t .

Has there been any mention of whether they are keeping the "concealment" stat from the original PnP game? Where all weapons were classed based on where you could hide them (P=Pocket, J=Jacket, L=Long coat and N=nowhere).

I really liked that machine guns (and heck, even assault rifles) were terrible things to be on the wrong end off, but their shear size meant that you could not run around with them without attracting a lot of unwanted attention. Also that if you wanted to get into a place with even moderate security, you would have to rely on P and J weapons as they were the only thing you could reasonable smuggle in.

Seeing as there is seeming both skills/perks for "handguns", "shotguns" and "rifles" - I really hope that there is an actual reason to not always go for the biggest boom. They could just balance the DPS, but that is just not as satisfying, nor does it give the bigger guns the "oh, snap!" factor when you can go toe-to-toe with a revolver.
