Uploading Save Failed

I was really excited to test out the new cross save feature, however, when I try to upload my saves to the steam cloud the game freezes for a moment followed by a "Uploading Save Failed" message.
Loading the game from the steam cloud does work, and I've tried uploading the saves to GOG cloud and that works too even though I do not own the game there.
I saw some Reddit threads complaining about the same issue but no answers to be found.
Help?

Unfortunately, I‘m not a Switch owner so I can‘t test it myself.
