Yet another suggestion on reworking weather

What if all weather cards had a body and weather would stay on that row until cleared OR until the unit that spawned it was destroyed? It would make it possible to build decks without running First Lights as a must and give players a choice.

 
Weather is fine. We just need more interaction with it. Maybe a second set of weather clearing bronzes which can have some sort of different synergy with their archtypes. And also more synergy with each faction and the actual use of weather.
 
to be fair, i don't see bronze weathers as much of a problem anymore. if you consider them at 2 value per turn, (sometimes can be 1) after 5 turns of weather it would be equivalent to your opponent playing a 10 value bronze, which isn't that great by today's standards.

the biggest issue is when weather is summoned/spawned by units, which tempo for themselves along with deckthinning
 
I am still waiting for First Light to trigger some boosting on the affected units. We saw something of the likes in the trailer for the Thronebreaker (Rain and Fire interaction), hope it shows that First Light will see a familiar boost as well, cause of right now it is just like shooting yourself in the foot to play right out of your hand if you are down on points.
 
The problem with weather (of any color) is that it can produce infinite amount of power over time when pretty much everything else is capped to a certain point.
Weather should not provide value over time. Just come back to the first system but in a much balanced way (instead of setting everything to 1 reduce their power by a certain amount and to a minimum of 1). For example :
Frost : Reduce the power of all units on the row or appearing on the row by 4 (to a minimum of 1) until frost is removed.
 
I think weather was alright while gold units were still immune. Right now every unit is a potential target, which obviously is a buff for weather cards.

From my point of view weather clearing cards need to be improved, may be reworked a bit. Personally, the only effects I want from these units is an effect that helps me against weather. I don't necessarily want to move units around, or steal cards from the other graveyard, or whatever. It doesn't always synergize well with the main purpose of the card. For me it would make more sense, if weather clearing units gave let's say +3 armor to several units in a row, a simple shield, or weather immunity for let's say three turns.

Besides right now first light (like D-Shackles) is a liability, because low tempo has become very very risky these days. With all these huge power swings it can get impossible to catch up. So I'd like to see at least a small buff (maybe add quen to 3 units on the board - no idea).

Anyhow, these are just a few thoughts. Of course there may be better solutions, and maybe I'm completely wrong.
