Geralt Using a Torch

+
Personally, i see it was a optional mechanic for when stealth is not an important factor but the area he is in is still dark.

If stealth is important or you would not prefer using a ''monster magnet'' torch, then by all means consume a cat potion. But know that it increases Geralt's toxicity level and obviously it consumes both the valuable potion and the ingredients used to make it.

According to the books, Geralt can see in the dark better than normal humans. In W1 it was needed, but in W2, I never needed it. With a good Gamma and contrast setting in your monitor, I'm sure, you'll be able to easily play without a torch or Cat. Maybe in the underground dungeons, where it may be completely dark, I wouln't mind using aid.
