Can we get clarification on censored versions please ?

Based on released footage and previews there seems to be quite noticeable and somewhat worrying differences.

Let's take one of the first scenes with a "certain lady" (trying to avoid a small spoilers here) where Geralt is seen taking a bath:

On conan's clueless gamer (i assume console), said lady is completely naked with a towel on her head

In some PC preview said lady wears underwear with no towel. (Which i was told it was due to being a censored UAE version)

However in other preview footage (believed to be PC) the same lady is seen with both underwear and a bra.

There are other scenes f.ex happening on a stuffed unicorn in which Geralt is seen with and without underwear.


So how many version are out there ?
Is it due to censoring ?
Or is it due to older builds and CDPR decided they want to show less skin for some weird reason ? (I doubt it would be for ratings)

And to clarify yes i did search for a answer, found many questions but unable to find a offical answer about this subject/issue.

ok, you mess things up a bit here

there are 2 versions, one censored and the other isn't. In the censored version, the woman is wearing underwear, then in the next scene she wears a bra (because she is dressing up in front of the mirror). in the uncensored version, she is naked, and wears a bra in the next scene with that mirror, because she is supposed to.

basically, in the censored version, everytime you would see a naked woman, you see a woman with a bit of underwear instead.

ps: the censored version is available in some countries (mostly middle east/arabia and such). Also in the preview in Conans show, they had to show the censored version because of american television (or something similar).

Yes GOG version is completely uncensored. GOG codes that come with the physical version in censored regions might not be however.

now this looks like a bug to me. seems to be the censored version - and yep, might be an older build. Have you seen the cutscene in a video recently? Don't post it here, because it might be from those "leaked" versions, but there are actually many videos out there, and normally it looks like this in the uncensored version: in the very first scene, she is completely naked and wears the towel, reading a book. then she removes the towel and gets dressed in front of that mirror. however, in the censored version in this maybe old build, the towel just disappears and she wears underwear after some point of the cutscene. But as i said, this could be a bug (that the towel just disappears and she isn't wearing the censor-underwear in the very first scene).

I think in the final version she has the towel in her head because most people would assume she is Triss, at least people that know the books and when she dresses herself it is clear it was Yen. Probably in the preview build they did not intent to trick the player, that is why we see some videos with that.

Either way I really do not care much it is not going to ruin the game for me, it just naked pixels lol

The same way you do not see Geralt full naked, it is a design decision not censorship.

Also there is a sauna in game full of guys with towel in their waist is that censorship too?

In my country women can do topless, at beach. The ones that does not do this are not censoring their breasts, they just decided to wear a bra (or something else) at the beach... It is not a porn game

I think some women use towels in the same sauna scene, others do not. I mean the game is not about being naked so I do not understand this compelling feeling to call it censorship.

I agree though, underwear in a sauna is ridiculous.
