In Baldur's Gate 3 early access, the devs even made a post about it (which people took completely wrong and completely missed the point) saying that the overwhelming majority of characters made were the most basic Human Male you could think of, something a premade character would be.
I would be willing to bet money that if CDPR tracked such things, they would arrive at the same results. White Male with a stubble and short dark brown hair.
I am a woman, it's not a breaking news , but I wanted to make a man, play a male character, funny at first. unfortunately it didn't work with my state of mind. the man of my life told me; you are, maybe too feminine? Yes maybe.
the male character V, from my point of view; it is first of all the voice. the freedom to think; I don't like the English male V voice. nor in Russian, French or Japanese.
V is a woman, according to me. it's up to everyone to think what they want in this feeling of gameplay.
Street kid; White woman, Nomad; Black woman, Corpo; Japanese woman.
I would really like a game where choosing the protagonist sex has some real C&C throughout the story; the settings have to be something like medioeval times or a fictional society with rigid castes and were each sex had his strict role. Unfortunately, it's not going to happen, not in today society where everybody is offended so easily and where witch-hunts are returning in the form of social campaigns, cancel culture, shaming people for not conforming to the mainstream, etc...
Why?
Do you mean, the race and ethnicity of your character?Canon V is female. All 3 lifepaths have very feminine intro missions with street kid & corpo being the most glaring.. The quality difference in voice acting, the stronger creator depth, the direction with Judy & Panam being clearly written as lover & best friend... There's so many instances it shows throughout the game.. The funniest to me is Venus in Furs.. Play it as male then play it directly after as female. It's hilarious.
My template that I've been evolving is Asian-Latin with a touch of southern Eastern Bloc...
I'm similar to this, I'm Israeli-Sicilian-Native American & a touch Irish.
I found it cool also that V's circle is ethnically similar to mine.. These things helped me connect super easily.
...although this world forbids us everything and imposes a single thought.
You have to ask the question backwards;you had a tough life i understand. But everybody can be everyone, why a black woman can be the head of the biggest corporation in the world? why a white woman cannot have the right to hate to be confined in a city because she want to explore the world? a oriental girl can be born in a very poor family with barely something to eat, so she is a "street girl", life is very complex and not only white or black. (sorry for my lack of expression i am not english so sometimes, for me is difficult to find all the right words)
