bug with the caroline sword

During the quest "Contract: Missing miners", if you choose to kill de troll in the cave, he'll drop a Caroline sword, which if you equip it, it'll bug. I tried to reload the save and do the quest again, but the issue still stays. Also, I play the witcher 3 on directx 11 version.

I guess there is a reason why does nobody encounter this bug: somehow the troll in question drops unleveled version of this sword (was lvl 12 sword for me), so nobody actually tries to equip it %)
