DLC Question

Hi, I am a noob when it comes to electronics and couldnt find the appropriate answers. I thought maybe I could find help here, but I'm sure this is the wrong forum. Either way here it goes anyway. I have played Witcher 3 for years and adore it. My only issue has been that I bought the game in store and wanted the dlc since release, but was told on steam that I do not own the game. Its downloaded and has all my saves on pc. Is there anyway to buy the dlc and install it without having to purchase the game again just so i can "own it." Am i missing something simple like try purchasing it on gog instead of steam or what? I really would like to just buy the dlc for my physical copy that I already own, but will buy the game again and just transfer the save data onto the steam or gog's version if that's what it takes. I just couldnt find if it was possible and as stated am not tech savvy so idk if that's the obvious answer. I'd give anything to get the dlc tho, I just dont wanna make any unnecessary extra purchases beforehand if I simply need to just go to the "proper site."

Hello, @P3t3rh4us3n . You should be able to find a GOG game code in the physical case. Depending on which edition you have, it will either be on the back of the manual, or on a leaflet. You should be able to redeem this code at https://www.gog.com/redeem . This will add the game to your GOG account library, and grant you access to the extras and free DLCs.
