6 levels or more than the recommended quest level will give you 5 exp reward only. Its best to do the quest as early as possible to make the most out of the exp reward. CDPR mentioned this on patch 1.05 i think so we need to be wary of the quests given. Anyways there are lots of quests ahead especially when you are at the middle or end game.
