Mods/Adventure Request/Idea thread

+
Hi there,I really Enjoy the game but I have 2 mini-mods requests:Iwonder if there's a way to modify the auto-sort of my items stored at th inn?Anyone know where I can ask? is there a Witcher mods community board?Else, is there a way to create a mixed view between the mouse view enad the keyboard view (OTS).I just want to keep the OTS, with the ability to click somwhere to make Geralt moves here, like in mouse view. The other thing is to zoom in first person view and zoom out more, like in "F2" mouse view.In fact, I want to have the same options than in WoW ;)Thanks.John

I would LOVE to have an interface-improving mod. Something that could potentially remove the need for mouse input entirely, so I could use a gamepad, or keyboard only, or keyboard and mouse but with less click-spamming.Very little would please me more than being able to play The Witcher the way one plays Nox or any Legacy of Kain game.

@Silver:What? Glasses?
And maybe the possibility of individualizing ones Geralt. Such as glasses.
You mean something like sunglasses? 8) Could you give me that sentence in german to understand what you want with glasses, please? :whistle:@Gnikrul:What do you want? Guy, this is The Witcher and not Legacy of Kain. This is a RPG and not a shooter. If you (and the other guys with similiar wishes) want to play without a mouse and play with a gamepad, maybe you should buy a gameboy or playstation for your games. The Witcher is a PC game, and with a PC you usually use a mouse and not a gamepad or such stupid stuff. :evil:

Not everyone likes a "left click everything" interface, and I'm not suggesting that anyone take YOURS away, only requesting that alternatives are made available. In this thread, we are asked to post what we would like to see in mods. All I did was exactly that. If my personal preferences in gaming are somehow offensive to you, I suggest you grow up....oh, and in case your ignorant, childish nature isn't obvious enough already, I might point out that I've never owned a console in my life... not that that was ever relevant to this discussion in the first place.

Is this a joke from our Professor-obsessed forum member, or do you actually want to see glasses for Geralt? Considering that part of the Witcher mutation is better senses, having glasses for Geralt seems bizarre; my guess is that you're doing the Professor thing again. :)

Sorry, boy, I don't wanted to insult you, and it was not meant as an insult. So your firy, childish outbreak is not really needed for answering me...I just wondered what PC-gamers do with a gamepad or such stuff, because the "normal" thing to play games on a PC is and will ever be... a mouse. And only console gamers ever screem out for a gamepad, mostly that ones, that play shooters...But if you are feeling insulted of my sentence, then.. sorry. :beer:

I'm confused. You seem to further insult me and also apologize to me in the very same post.Oh well, further off topic ranting at this point gains neither of us anything, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt, chalk up your seemingly insolent tone to English not (apparently) being your first language, and accept your apology.Back on topic... as I've said, not everyone like a "left click does everything" interface. If you like it, that's great, enjoy it. But I don't like the constant requirement to aim in this game, especially considering that it you aren't actually aiming anything anyway, just "approving" a preset action. For actions in the game, a single button-tap (or click without[\i] aiming) would be better suited for this action, in my opinion. The level of required input is higher than the actual control wielded over execution. So I'd appreciate it if someone could reduce the former, as I know increasing the latter would likely be rather unattractive to the more hardcore RPG crowd, and not really in the spirit of the game in my opinion, though I wouldn't be adverse to it personally.

If you click on Hexenmeister Raven's profile, you'll see that she lists her location as Germany and her language as German. I think she does a lot better in English than most native English speakers would do in German, and if I were trying to communicate in her language, I'd hope people would give me the benefit of the doubt.I think you're right that, as you say, further off-topic ranting won't do anybody any good.

I don't know if this has been requested before (my apologies if it has) but I would like to see an adventure/mod where Geralt learns to become a Witcher with all the trials. or maybe one that tells the story about how he got the scar?

Maybe a mod where you're Alvin, the last Witcher :beer:Or one that Geralt looses part of his power (not his memory), and has to bring it back somehow.Or even Geralt's path if he hadn't turned out to be a Witcher. What if he'd become the greatest sorcerer of all time? Or the leader of some salamander's equivalent group?

I know this is cheesy but I am having a little Star Wars fever, since I can't play the force unleashed cause its not on PC. I would like to see a lightsaber or maybe a flaming sword, or other effect swords added and maybe make Geralt look a little younger or at least with a less worn face. I don't mind that he looks war worn just that I prefer a younger hero. These witchers have been training since childhood so I'd like to think they were powerful at much younger ages. Geralt and the other witchers look as if they're in their late 30s. Also if there was a better way to control fighting with a controller or at least some way to fix the weird attack mechanics. I suppose that they were going for a mix between KOTOR or NWN2 and Mass Effect and, well, didn't fail, but its definitely annoying at times, would be much better if it wasn't such a long animation after you clicked to make it seem more like most other pc action adventure games. I prefer to have more control over the attacks (i.e. Gothic 1-3 had great weapon control and is a great action adventure RPG if anyone is looking for a great game) I suppose this isn't very likely modable but I can dreamOh and if anyone has anything to say about me being "uncool" cause I like to play PC games with controllers than please don't even bother replying with any insulting comments cause I will report you and ignore the comment.Edit: found a geralt face mod so maybe I can edit the face myself, but would like to see some sword effects though

Does anyone know of a mod that will get rid of the annoying thunderous crash that is used on the menus? Every time I access a menu command there is this crashing noise that sounds like someone dropped a dumpster on a Volkswagen--I can't stand it. Does a mod to quiet this noise already exist? If not, is there some modder who would consider making one? Or even tell me the name of the noise file (I can't find it) and I'll patch the bloody thing myself. Thanks all! :peace:

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately, the file is no longer on the download site. ??? I notice that you are the original modder...do you have another host? Or PM me and we can email.

I'd love it if there was the ability to walk using a walk on/off toggle. t'would be loverly and aestheticy :D please???? or if someone could let me know if its actually possible to mod that using d'jinni, i'll do it myself!

I'm wondering if there is any possibility of modding the save game menu, so that the save games are in sections according to which adventure you are playing. Like I'm now playing through the whole game again with the Enhanced Edition and also having a go at the new adventures ('Deception' has just come out as well as the new one from CDP, 'Side Effects'). It would be nice to have them each in their own columns as opposed to all in the same one. It's a bit annoying having to scroll through the single column looking for my save game whenever I switch to a different adventure. I shouldn't think that it's to difficult to code, so if someone could do this it would be great...

A long time ago, someone made a mod that altered the werewolf adventure so that Carmen gives you werewolf hair as a reward for not killing the wolf. (In the unmodded game, if you don't kill the wolf you don't get the hair.) Currently this mod is not EE compatble...it messes up the models and breaks the quest. Is anyone planning to make an EE-compatible version?
