Phantom Liberty or "What would you like to see improved in the future of CP2077"

+
Interesting? I'm not sure it was there before, but on the CDPR events page they added a H1 (Half year investor update) report event for August 30th. Maybe related to 1.7/PL?

Just finished another char yesterday… and aside of new content I really would be glad if they could fix some issues which are known for a little longer these days like broken radiostations in cars which won’t play at all, missing voicelines (most of the first voicelines on any random dialog is bugged, second and ongoing lines are fine tho) or the armadillo bug after certain quests or if putting gear to the storage… not talking about Sandevista or Berserk which seem hardly get along with certain other cyberware/perks or even gamemechanics…

They are not gamebreaking but in all kinda annoying to play with…

This question has been brought up many times. I think the overall improvement has been more NPC interactions and activating unused assets. Braindance material cannot be bought and played. There is an entire narrative that could be crafted from braindance material. There are still a lot of buildings that we didn't have access to in the current version of the game. Who knows what's waiting for us in the Mega Buildings and other areas of NC.

Yeah, they may do some stuff like that. They even significantly improved atmosphere and clouds. I wouldn't be surprised if people who don't buy the expansion will still see the map changes visually.

The Cyberpunk world has a ton left to explore. It is a shame because if they had release Cyberpunk 2077 finished we would have ended up getting multiple expansions - which this game definitely deserves.

Around the initial release of the game they said that this game would get at least as much expansion content as The Witcher 3. That is one of the reasons that I think Phantom Liberty is going to be massive and from the list of changes/features they have discussed I think my expectations were set properly. But I have a feeling the story and side content is going to be plentiful as well.

It also wouldn't shock me if this particular expansion extends beyond Dog Town and they have added additional content to other parts of Night City as well - just interesting little side quests and hidden gems.

Traveling to the Crystal Palace would have been cool. Diving into the world of braindances and having an expansion around them would have been cool. Fleshing out the areas around the city with more detail and content would have been great. Hell, one of the supposedly leaked 'potential expansion ideas' that they cancelled was just a massive content drop to add a ton of new side quests, NPCs and stuff to the city at large.

2 Playthroughs of Cyberpunk down I'm feeling I've scratched that itch enough and it's time to move on to other pastures for the time being. I'm going to to keep a look on Phantom Liberty's release but won't buy at launch, both for the personal philosophy of never buying something day1 and also CDPR's handling of patch 1.62 (I did buy on sale when the game was v1.61 so that left me quite sour), but I will keep a look on it.
Even then, there's always things a developer could improve in their game. Let's be real here, there will never be a complete satisfaction to a degree that a decade old modding community will achieve, but one can hope.
With that said I still would like to share a small list of things that I would like to see improved with future patches / DLCs. I have not taken mods into consideration for this.
Discuss or add if you will. :)

- Focus on fixes and improvements, game stability over tech showcases shoehorned in (that's what betabranches and tech demos are for!)
- Fix DLSS for Ryzen users with nvidia GPUs
- Fix the myriad of visual bugs, LoD, draw distance, ...

- More interactivity with the world and the people. Doesn't have to be build engine levels of detail (like Ion Fury or Duke) but it'd be nice still.
- More places: strip clubs, gambling dens, dime stores, arcades, super markets, car stores... endless possibilities for interesting gameplay, chance meetings and unique characters
- Car garages to modify / recolor / repair your cars
- Refund skill points at ripperdocs only for more immersion (can also be roleplayed so whatever)
- No camera reset when driving
- a flashlight / lowlight vision (more eye mods?)
- smart scrapper perk that allows you to set what should be scrapped and what shouldn't including itemtype and rarity
- Revamp craft / breakdown system. Right now it's much more feasible to sell a gun and buy parts instead of breaking it down for parts unless it's a common gun that you break down to craft ammo.
- A better way to upgrade iconic weapons if you don't have tech 20 (so you don't have to reset perks just for upgrading, then resetting perks again to your og build)
- more comprehensive system to build weapon mods, special mod sellers around town
- add craftsmen around the city that can upgrade stuff
- more romances and joytoys would be nice. A depraved city and only 2 joytoys? More romances would be nice for flavor, as someone who can't really identify with River as an example
- Give romances an AI package so they can at least roam around their own area instead of standing in one spot
- Fix the Aldecaldo's bed in the new camp so one can sleep in it (and wake up next to a romanced Panam)
- optional hardcore mode with thirst & hunger
- reorganization of the call & messages tabs to sort fixers and quest givers from friends and romances
- restructuring NCPD assault areas to be radiant quests, or at least repopulate after a couple of ingame days (I noticed some areas already do)
Maybe add the most important thing ever imo THIRD PERSON CAMERA so people who hate first person can finally enjoy their favorite game, also so you can actually enjoy the character you spent hours creating and customizing and dressing up and all

My guess is that they will see how long Phantom Liberty can hold us. CDPR didn't want to disclose too much information, which is a good thing. They want us to play it and find things. For all we know, there might be a bunch of new content in Night City itself. There are a few questions that run through my mind. What happens we we start a new game file? Will characters we've been introduced to, talk about Dogtown? Does this take place after the events we've been introduced to?

One could say that CDPR rebalanced the game. One thought that runs through my mind is Meredith Stout. If Militech is active in Dogtown, does this mean that we could see her again? There is a choice that gamers can make that keeps Meredith alive. However, after the casual encounter at the No Tell Motel she is not seen in the game. Could it be that she went to Dogtown for Militech related issues?

I have played Cyberpunk 2077 since day one on PC and through all the hotfixes and patches but I think there has been a major performance drop from patch 1.5 to patch 1.6/1.62. This has been bugging me since I updated the game I lost 10 fps on average on a rtx 3070 with DLSS on. So I want just want performance fixes in the upcoming 1.7 patch.

Some "end-game" or "post-game" repetable (but still varied, maybe by using randomization) content, like random mission chains with different rewards.

I know its not an ARPG or a Looter-Shooter, but getting something that could keep us playing the game after all the "main content" is finished would be nice. Scaling ranks with NCPD as sub-con, fighting back (or fighting for) gangs, conquering or defending zones for/against factions, that kind of stuff.

They already said stuff like this is coming.

I want them to add some more missions in the game connecting phantom Liberty to the main game story line.

More character development for main NPCs relationship with V such as panem, Judy, River, Kerry.

Adding more romances, such as Takamura, Rita wheeler, Blue moon, Meredith sotout and etcc. Hopefully SongBird will be romancble.

Most of the stuff I wanted seem to be added in update 1.7.

I want all boss fights to be completely redesigned to be actually challenging and fun, instead of a mess of crap.

I'm not a fan of lowering prices of stuff you can buy in game - cars, persk respec, good weapons. High prices actually make the player search different solutions to earn money other from just gigs - hunting for good items and selling them, crafting (you don't even have to be master crafter to get good results - with my "uncommon" crafting recipes I was able to get enough money from selling crafted weapons to get all the cars, apartaments, buy some legendary weapons, rearrange my Kabuki apartament like 15 times and still have some spare change for future purchases), exploring. Plus, you don't have to get all the stuff in one gameplay, it's even better if 100%-ing your save is impossible or just very difficult. Start new game with different character, different build and goals - that's what I want from 1.7 and Phantom Liberty. A challenge and reason to restart the game for 3-4 times to try different things and gameplay approaches.

I don't care about romances - computer game is not a thing to make you feel loved and among all the features this game offers, this is the most riddiculous thing people keep asking about (maybe except hairdresser, but we already have substitute of it in form of ability to change V's appearance in the mirror - good choice). I'd like instead to have more joytoys over all city, fitting with their behaviour, clothings and dialogue to the district they are within.

Instead of New Game+, some additional city activities would be a nice addition. Randomly generated small missions, gangs shooting themselves, police attempts to pacify shootings - I hope game engine can keep these working.
Also, more interactions between NPCs - like talks on the streets, people stopping by street-corner bars, couples taking selfies, well-suited guys in sport cars chatting with two hookers on sidewalk - loved stumbling upon these little details making the city more alive and I'd like to have more of them. Perfect opportunities to take some pics with photomode.

Return of the city bus and ncart would be nice for chilling to the music, watching the grim city from the height.

I'd like it if they fixed it so Johnny was actually holding his pistol in his left hand when you play as him, like he's supposed to as it was designed to work with his cyber arm as firing it would break a ganic arm and most importantly he's left handed. He holds it in the correct hand when the player isn't in control of him but not when player controlled.
