Saved games not appearing.

Hello, 31.12. before new year I was playing WItcher like any other day. Today 2.1 after new year I run game and all my progress is LOST. I can only start new game. No load games.

I checked folders and I found all my saved games in specific folder, but I dont know how to run them from that folder. Tried to copy them into main Witcher 3 folder but no succes. Checked troubleshooting but no luck. Cross progression only created 1 manual save from 2 years ago.

Playing on PC

Once again, I have all my autosaves and manual saves in the folder. But game cant run/find them. Any help how to do it please?

hey man, so I´ve managed to restore my saves, In my case I copied the saves from steamcloud local directory to the game directories and verified file integrity through steam. It looks like it works, at least for now

Hi everyone,
I´ve wanted to play today, however in the menu I can only start a new game. I got the game digitally on steam, running v. 4.0.4

Can anyone tell me where did my saves go or somehow help me?

P.S.: In the screenshot you can see Geralt with the mark from Heart of Stone DLC. That shouldn´t be there on a new gameplay, right?

^ That's about as close a topic as we can get to the game losing track of save files. I'm guessing it will be the same team. Out of curiosity, which version of Windows are you running, and did you recently install any Windows Updates?

I figured out moving saved games out of its original folder out then saving new game - making game create new folder and file. Then I moved my old saved games back to the original folder and it appeared in game like usually before.

Yeah, that's sounding like it may be a Windows thing. I know I just installed an update and had a few issues crop up with 2 games not able to load certain saves. Either way, report to CDPR Support if you're seeing it.

There are no files in the saved files section. I played for about 47 hours, I also entered the war with Wild Hunt, I also found Ciri, I made a lot of progress.

But unfortunately, there is no checkpoint among the saved files. I opened a ticket, but there is no response. Please help me, I want to see the end of the game without watching someone's video.

and there is no file named gamesaves here, there is file confusion, someone please help me.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\1144802372\292030\ac\WinMyDocuments\The Witcher 3\gamesaves go here and try what I did, move this folder somewhere else to make it empty. Then run new game, save it->game making new folder with new autosave, then copy back the 1st old folder in here with your old autosaves and it should work... Worked for me.

This is a problem with the latest Steam update not the game itself .... GOG versions are just fine
