I guess this thread is from before Oblivion came out, and didn't live up to the hype, but still...The style of the Witcher combined with the "size and freedom" of TES would be preposterous.Let's look at the different philosophies behind these different games:-The Witcher: fun gameplay comes from a good engine but, primarily, from a lot of good hand-made content. Non-linear quests, intriguing storylines, etc.-Oblivion: what if we just auto-generate a huge world and don't spend any time on content at all?In Oblivion, you have "freedom" if "freedom" means "walk anywhere, kill anything" but if you want "freedom" to encompass anything more than those two simple actions, you're hosed. Conversations are absurdly linear, and for most people, your only option is to ask for rumors. There's a whole (terrible) minigame for persuasion, so you'd think you could be bending people to your wishes, only it only comes up like twice in the game, except when you're using it to get lower prices from shopkeepers. That's not "freedom."
