Mmmmmm .. not entirely.
TW2 builds up the romance between Triss and Geralt so if you haven't played it you will miss some depth for sure.

Without TW2 it would be a just another romance option, if You didn't miss opportunity in docks, or even will end up in threesome.

As I'm reading Blood of Elves, I clearly see a possible twist for Triss & Geralt romance in TW3. But her character really needs those changes CDPR announced. If it's the chosen way by devs, Triss should have more depth... and books can provide a part of it.
