Here is the problem with nudity in the United States. No one cares if their kids watch violent cartoons or tv shows but as soon as someone shows a tit...national scandal.Pretty messed up priorities if you ask me...

Purely out of interest...Do they censor the opening sequences of James Bond films in the USA? Just in case of the odd traditional tit "glimpse" or gratuitous flaunting of side-tit, prevalent in said films... ;)

No it is not just you and by the way you can have political correctness with violence, gore and sex. Mature games as in intellectual mature should have always some degree of political correctness, I really do not want duke nukem on the witcher :/

Not censored; the only one I remember definitely is "You Only Live Twice", with the silhouetted bathers.Still, if you want to engage in "your country has more idiotic censors than mine", Australia routinely refuses or revokes classification for games with sexual or drug references that pass unremarked in the US, and Australian censorship has the force of law, making it a crime to import or deal in such games.

Heh... strange thing for me... I moved from what's supposed to be a very "liberal" or "open minded" UK society, to Spain. Said to be more religious intolerant of certain things. Imagine my surprise at seeing things like hardcore pornography on standard terrestrial TV stations, both analogue and digital channels, plus extended coverage of the full execution of Saddam Hussein on the evening news, as opposed to "before" and "after" shots shown in the UK. That's not to mention, some of the most gory or candid news footage I've ever seen anywhere.I just find it amusing how censorship rules, stipulations and laws vary so much from one country to another, often in contradiction to how "open" their society is understood to be.It really must be a nightmare for a company like CD Projekt, when preparing a more "mature" orientated product they intend distributing worldwide.

Hey man, one humble spaniard here salutes you! I hope my compatriots treats you well. In a few months I'm going to London myself to work. I hope.Yeah, even inside the European Union, the laws are completely different in each country. I doubt where buy my copy. Probably GoG, since I really like the idea of putting my money as near as possible to the developers, but as many people I'm holding the horses until I know that the GoG version in uncensored. My second option is the Premium Version in my local shop. As Heathxxx said, Spain is quite soft with censorship, I think is related with our recent history, since we had to suffer a strong one during the dictatorship (just 35 years ago) and people are very reluctant to accept this kind of restrictions. Lucky us, I suposse. Anyway, our Catholic Church is still a powerful institution (as it is in Poland, btw). And everyone knows how Catholic Church think (compared with Anglican, for example). Let's say that regular people don't like the government control. Regarding the nude-noble-breasts-in-the-trailer issue (I loved Prison break trailer!), I welcome any detail that the devs wants to implement to improve the scene. Personally, I felt the situation as realistic, believable and dark. And I suffered for the woman. So, the original configuration worked for me.First post, btw. I like the little happy community you have constructed here, so I pretent to keep an eye on it if you let me.

Sadly I think the 'reworking' of the already infamous prison scene is more likely just going to result in them covering up the woman's breasts. Nothing puts a dent in creativity like idiots who can't deal with seeing nudity.

I dont know. It shouldnt be a problem if, for example, they turn the woman (face against the wall). That doesn´t avoid we see a brief shot of frontal nudity (maybe after Gerald release her). Nudity plays a role in the scene, because stress the weakness of a defenceless woman, so delete it would be a mistake, I think. The funny thing, you know, is this time the criticism comes from serious (right or wrong) gamers, not from prudish lobbists. The critic argued that the nudidty in the scene is gratuitous ("masturbatory") or fanservice. After the devs stated that they would redo the scen, he recognized that probably he overreacted (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/09/13/the-witcher-2-covers-up/) .On the other side, I have read the commentaries to the trailer in youtube and 50% were oh-my-god-boobies rubbish. And I would bet many of them, are not below 21. Sometimes I wonder myself if game community is prepared for an mature work as TW2.

The gaming community may not be ready for a mature work in TW2. And if not, to hell with them. Show the skin, show the blood, the violence, every last red drop of it. I'm sick of kiddie games, and my conciliatory attitude toward censorship is all used up. If people want kiddie games, go to any other developer, and you'll find one. Leave The Witcher alone. It's like asking an R rated movie to be PG because the viewer isn't capable of thinking like an adult.

Yes, thought-provoking mature games without any compromises, like the original Fallout and VtM:Bloodlines are hard to find these days. This is one more reason to praise CD Projekt ;)

edk you're not getting my post because it's a merged topic.I wrote after seeing an article about the introduction trailer being changed due to some morons who took offense to titties.i too am looking to get a mature game - one that would offend as many modern sensibilities as posible: I want whores and boiking chicks, and a mansion full of slaves, topped with tones of blood and murder ... almost forgot: zombie strippers and lewd vampires. and yes I do blame the political correctness for the censorship in games, because it provides for gay romances, while excluding casual match straight sex - dao 2 or me 2 ( and this one had many races to tickle with).in my book you don't preach about purity of soul in a drunken strip bar. you simply wait outside at least - this is my view on people who find it offensive: stay out of our game.ok I might be rambling , but after the me 2 , dao 2, gothic 4 debacles I'm lacking my fix :)

What you described is not a mature game, believe me. :DI don't know if you are trolling, but if you aren't...well the witcher 2 is not the game for you., as well as any AAA video game ever. You will find these things you mentioned in B-movies probably....

Ow, VtM.Bloodlines. Best bag of bugs ever created. What a game could had been with proper resouces. I loved it.And about the mansion of slaves and chicks, well... I suppose if the slaves are mature ones ;)

Once you patch it, it's brilliant.

Even patched and bugless it is not completely perfect, IMO. Some parts of the game are a bit rushed, and the combat is difficult if you dont have a character focused in physical traits (both fails I think related with the problems between devs and publisher, impossible deadlines...). But again: the music, the atmosphere, the dark streets, the hopeless, the characters (Jack, Jeanette,...), some quests (the haunted house!),... a must have.

Yes, some parts are a bit rushed due to publisher and deadlines, but it's still phenomenal - characters, dialogue, quests, atmosphere etc. Closure of Black Isle and Troika Games were the biggest disasters in the history of RPGs. But now we have CD Projekt, stronger than ever. We should stay on topic and look forward to the new era of storytelling ;)
