the american version contains both localized.* files. Hence, the censoring on models. the bik files are literally different files, as are the artwork.(from the other versions)

No it doesn't.There is no localized00.bif in The Witcher\Data\ folder when the US version is installed.I have an original, non-pirated, retail copy of The Witcher and when I installed there was no "localized**.bif" file, only "localized.key", which is not the same thing. I downloaded the Polish localized00.bif and put it into my Data folder and no file was overwritten or replaced, rather the very presence of the file in my Data folder overrode whatever was causing models to be censored in the first place (much the same way dds files do, I imagine); I now have uncensored models such as the Dryad.

My question was, if the localized00.bif file exist in the american version of the game what data it contains, since you say it does exisit Im thinking that the nude skins for the Alp, Bruxa and Dryad where not shiped with the american version, The american version of the localized00.bif might contain edit versions of these.

That file does not exist in the US version.You would have to include it as a separate download or rely on people to get it on their own (as I did).It's not a very large file, only about 50mb.

Thank you for the clarification on that. I will add my mod doesnt not rely on the precence of the localized00.bif file. Hate to rehash here but the localized00.bif file contains the nude skins for the Alp, Bruxa and Dryad (As well as some violence mods)My file contains the nude skins for Triss, Shani and Adda. (They are not paked in a bif file by the way, as any file that is presnt in the origanal folder with the orginal name is applied before the bif files are called for.)

Possibly but for the final american relese (The Edited One) my thoughts would be that even if there where a locailized.bif file it wouldnt contain the un-edited Alp, Bruxa, Dryad skins or the violence mods....if it did considering they probably edited these files to conform to the ERSB standards, that is if they left the nude skins and just removed the reference to them the locailized.key file (A file that is only 1,967 bytes) They would have caused a stir. At least with the other way, without including the nude skins from the localized00.bif (A 51,181,811 bytes file) They can claim that the edited version truly is edited, not just masked.

I'm not sure how much of a stir it would cause being that game is already M, and there are no scenes or actions or events that would push the rating to AO, secondly it may have been submitted as is, and was simply later edited by CDPR at Atari's behest, much like the english language being rather very different from anyone else's...but still contains liberal amounts of "fuck" and people telling other people they suck dwarf cock.Complete speculation of course. What changes is partial Nudity becomes nudity. and nipples poking through cloth become visible, it's not like a previously excised rape scene is now present, and in the regular American version Geralt rips of bits from people and monsters, and still waggles his sword in their intestines like he's playing Zangief on Street Fighter. *shrug*So, is this for testing, or considered done?

Xhan, you forget that argument I had with the anti-americans? They said even censored this game had 'porn', they said even though, NO sex ever occurred yet, 'jiggly motion fcking' supposedly happened.They are the most anti-anything even REMOTELY hinting at non-visual but implied visual sex, it's anti-american so called 'morals' but the filthiest language jokes and violence are A'OK.

Fell, can't you just say 'naked skins dot com'? That's not a direct link at all.This is in fact done Xhan, it's not a mod unless you use the skins at all times. This is what was censored from the Polish version elsewhere, only in embracing scenes.

Which program did you use for editing the mdb files? I tried to open them with my 3D Max 9 (with the NWN2 importer) but every time I received an error.

There are two links at the file host site, one that contains the link to download the localized00.bif and localized00.key files. That would be extent of the offical content.The texture (DDS) files have been re-painted by me, they where not included in the origanal game nude. They where probebly nude at one time and then repainted white over the like I said before "Cough" Offensive areas.The mdb files I included are header files of some kind I beleive and can be edited with notepad, or any other text editor.For instance in the file cr_triss2.mdb changing the first line from:binarycompositemodel cr_triss2 cm_triss2 tobinarycompositemodel cr_naked1 cm_naked1 Will call for the nude version (Which was not really nude but by including the cr_naked1_c1.dds we can fix that)of triss.Hope that answers most of the questions.

I agree with you on there use I myself do not keep any of the mdb files in the _meshes00 folder however when I was play testing this mod I found that Older version of the witcher have the problem with the animations not correctly being displayed with the naked model files being called for however,New versions of the witcher support (In my play testing) the nude model files animation such as Triss casting spells in the begining and so forth. Could this be in preperation for the Offical Toolset?
