I got into the series through the Enhanced Edition of the first game so I guess I dodged the bullet.

I dodged it too, got the game on 1.3.
But we're still experiencing the fall-out from it in the Support section. Typically "I just got a new PC with Windows 8, installed TW2 from my original disks, and it won't run".

DRM on disk - the gift that lasts forever.

I'm curious actually, with the EE does the disk still contain the DRM or do you need the patch to kill it? It's not a problem for me, I have the backup gog copy saved on a HDD I use (keeps the disks mint).

If you have the EE, it's fine. The problem arises for people that bought the original retail version - a probem solved by installing a patch.

Great picture, and good topic ; I had this Tages software too and remember how it was marvellous to not work and give errors. The company is amazing and so are their work and point of view
