Dear CDPR, please give us back the original armor textures

As nice as this new 1.21 patch is (the UI is pure awesomeness), the one thing that is really bothering me is the replacement of all the Witcher armor textures with far inferior textures...
It is nice enough to have the option of dyes (although personally I would not use them) but to provide this at the costly expense of the original textures? I don't think this is a good solution at all and I don't think this dye thing was implemented very well at all.

What about people who do not intend to get B&W? Everyone is now left with these "new" textures, which really just won't do. From an artistic as well as a technical point of view, these textures look bad.

CDPR, please, if you must have this new dye option, at least please make it an "option" and not something that is forced on everyone.

I have also noticed on many of these armors, a sort of artifact, if you can call it that? Sometimes along the edges of a texture, a blue line appears (Geralt's default armor on his right shoulder; HoS Viper armor along the bottom of the chest piece, etc.)

I also noticed that the default armor is a different color, and using a lesser quality bump map.

Surely, it can't have been the intention to reduce the visual quality of these armors so much? The Wolf Armor colors do not even match!

CDPR, please....don't do this. You have worked so hard to create armor textures that look absolutely amazing, but this has been utterly ruined by this new Dye thing...

Not the level of quality I would even allow on my own mods, how come this is acceptable from you guys?

Please fix this.

I can see certain colour changes(Wolven and Feline so far) but I can't say I see a change in quality per se

"Old" textures probably didn't work well with dyeing. But, could be the dyeing a switch-off-able DLC like the "alternative look for Yen/Triss/Ciri"?

Yes, that is kind of the point; How come this dye thing is so important that they were so happy to throw away the quality work they did on the textures originally?

Let me explain it this way...you see the "textured" dusty colored background behind this text? That is the kind of texture quality I am referring to. The original diffuse maps for the armor textures had dirt, scratches, visible wear...now, the new textures is like a freshly painted wall. No blemishes at all. And this to be is a number of steps backwards in terms of quality.
Anyone can come up with a shoddy retexture job like this.
No...there can definitely be a better way to implement this. Or at least, like I mentioned, make it an "option" that one can opt out of and continue enjoying the original textures.

I will also point out that where the original armor sets would have had a number of different colors and different shades of color, now with this dye thing, your armor basically consists of only 2 colors.

Okay there is definitely something I see with the textures they look..... brand new? I mean there's a new paintjob of course but I can't quite pinpoint.

i'd be seriously disappointed if i go into the game later tonight. only to notice they reduced that magnificent armor quality.

To illustrate my point more clearly, this is what your original Kaer Morhen armor diffuse texture looked like:

Now, in order to implement the dye thing, your armor texture is reduced to something like this:

It is a slight exaggeration, but it shows quite effectively exactly what they did. And I find it quite unacceptable.

I'm not going to jump into hyperbolic edits to try and get my wishes granted.

What I'm gonna do is take these few screens for others to compare to pre-patch.

After looking at Wolven and Feline(not sure), I can see the quality is definitely not as expected yes atleast in Wolven's case. I personally don't see any difference in Viper but it's a scaly armour so it's hard to remember small details like that.

I'm still looking for my own older pics with these armours, in the mean time some internet images:

#disapointed
also didn't i kill you at some point in the witcher 1?
Joke towards your glasses which remind me of that professor in the first game XD

God, i thought it was one of my mods or something.

The patch really changed the textures from the armors, specially the kaer morhen one.

I don't know about you guys, but my texture and water quality was set to low after the patch for no reason, so try and check your settings....my armor looks the same as before the patch....

Same here so good idea to check all the settings again before starting.
