F*ck roadmaps! If CDPR releases a "roadmap" then this disaster of a launch is complete as they'll now be doing the exact same stunts that Bioware pulled off with Anthem and many other live-service games before that.
No, no roadmaps. They can certainly talk about their plans, and if they do - great (or not, if they say "we're done with this"). But roadmaps are bad - they set up more deadlines, they create expectations (and CDPR already lied in marketing materials, so... yeah) and are generally not helpful in the slightest.

At least you know what you are getting and have every right in the world to flame CDPR if they can't meet the deadlines.

We cannot say that we want clarity and then continue and say "fck roadmaps!"

This will just prove everyone right who titled this thread an "endings bad" circlejerk with no intention to be constructive.

Whatever info we get is better than no info at all. Well if its bad, then i can put this game to rest

CD Red is in a difficult position in that regard.

Whatever they say now, it will be used against them anyway - "Argh, not enough! You promised us this and that and the things also I made up in my head over eight years are also not in the game yet argh!" "Argh, why do you focus on THAT nonsense, you should do this and that instead!"

Or they make promises to fix this and that, it doesn't come with the next patch, and again people say CD Red lied etc.

Yet I agree CD Red should find some brave souls in their company to go into regular dialogue with fans. Which sadly is not a nice affair (one reason why Bioware closed the forums at some point was the constant hostility against, well, everything and everyone, which to me at least, sucks, no matter how much I dislike a direction they went with their company...)

But then you also get the nagging questions from fans "what happened?" - and you do not speak about interna of your company. Not good for lawsuits, not good for investors etc.

So while I fully expect some response the coming weeks, I am afraid it will not be as substantial as some people around here and hte other forum-parts hope and demand it...

Well if news are bad, we can still come here, express our thougths, maybe more people will join in time and it could change something

I don't need a detailed roadmap, but some acknowledgment would sure be nice. Just so I know if I should have some hope for the future of this game or not.

I feel the romances are also quite limited in general.

As a straight male V, the only option is Panam which only stays with V if he's ok with living in a tent for the rest of his apparently short life (Nomad ending). Plus I have to sacrifice a few nomads/Saul in the final attack. Is this seriously it? If I choose to go for the solo Arasaka attack ending, then Panam doesn't like the mansion and comfortable life and leaves V to die alone. Even though she told V multiple times how she's with him till the end. I assume that was bullshit/selfishness on Panam's part. I also don't see how she now desperately wants to leave Night City even though when we first met her she was trying to make it as a new merc in Night City. So from liking Night City and telling V she's with him no matter what to hating Night City and leaving V to die alone in his final few months. This feels kinda bad and she's the only option available.

I've read that the other romance options for different genders/orientations are also bad. E.g. Judy also dumps V if she goes to solo attack Arasaka. However, at least Judy cries if you choose the suicide ending while Panam tells you to rot in hell so I guess Judy is a bit better than Panam.

Seems like the only way to have a happy relationship is to go live in the desert under a tent. Really? You probably can't even take a decent shower and this will be the final months of V's life? Wasting away somewhere in the Badlands while Panam is too busy with her new role as chief...

I sincerely hope this will be a trilogy of games with V as the main character and there will be more options/choices in the next games.

Not sure threads like these can fundamentally change company-decisions that need to take other things into account beyond our feelings for a story (aka money is what counts)

Sounds negative, I know.

What I do think however is not unimportant about this thread and similar discussions is to show CD red in this hard time for them: They did something very right with "V" as a character lots of players enjoyed to accompany. Mostly through sad times, but also good times. That is an asset CD Red can use and should build upon.

So far CD red has not backed itself into a corner like Bioware after ME3 ("Ending is ART! deal with it!") and can still use "V" to tell stories.

While I doubt that the next DLCs will make us feel any better about V's fate...not sure about the long term plans...a good thing is that a company in need will more likely go for safety (using established "V" instead of something new for example) and less for risk (Johnny DLC, Jackie DLC, "watch "V" slowly dying over six months DLC")

Every romanceable character has a good reason to either stay in NC or leave it.

Judy witnessed her friends/lover die in one of the most horrible ways and designs fetish porn for a living, always reminding her of her losses. She either gets out of there or will be next in cutting her wrists.

Panam suddenly has new obligations and duties as (Co-)leader of the Aldecaldos. She came into the city to start over but came to realize she likes living in a tent. Fine by me.

River has a family to take care of, that he will not leave behind. Completely understandable.

Dunno about Kerry, because I missed his quests.

And why should romances do what WE want? Because we are the MC and they are merely NPC's?
Like in real life you have to do tough choices in regards of career over love or staying with your family over moving far away.
Feels very organic to me.

All the seven ends are really dark and sad. Like really. we need a happy ending.

Edit: What do you think of the alternative endings, all of them are sad, and from what I see that people want at least one a happy one, atleast like a Top secret-Easter Egg, at least to achieve it with legendary clothes and level 50, or at least in extreme hard mode. What would be the best idea to fit?
I feel like it was never meant as a game with a truly happy ending. It was even said by a character "Bad people like us don't get a good ending" or something like that. But I feel like V finally realizing that her dream of becoming a "Legend" was too shallow and going away with Panam and Judy was truly a beautiful and happy ending where V could pass away full of happiness in her/his heart.

I wouldnt say V is evil, unless you choose to be. You dont really have many options to show your "evilness". Its a merc, with neutral stand. Similar to Geralt, does the job who pays the best.
Also Johnny, who is complege terrorist can get a second chance for full life, yet V cant? Hmmmmmm

I think that most people and even in this thread want only confirmation that the V's story will be continued after the main quest.
I doubt that endings will be retconned since they don't feel rushed - each of them alone are at least good. There is clearly many cues pointing or foreshadowing future stories. We just need to wait.

Well, V might not have Evil in her heart but she ain't good either. Once, in a mission about stealing something I've heard a guard talking with his wife on the phone. And then I realized that on my first playthrough I killed him. Which meant that his family lost him and was broken. Not all people killed by V were "evil bastards". Many probably had families who they cared for, maybe children too. V certainly is no angel nor a good person. Which does not mean she is evil.

My point is that I would have liked more variety. I understand that these characters have their own motivations and that is fine. But people play these games to escape reality, not to simply relive hard life choices that they had to make in real life. Is it really that hard to give people the option for a really happy ending? You can't have everything in real life, but this is a game, a fantasy. I am sure some people or, judging by the poll, the majority of people want to have a happy ending even if that could seem implausible.

I.e. would it really be that bad if there was a character which had such strong feelings for V that they would stay with V no matter what? However I feel Panam should stay with V no matter what given all the things V did for her and for her family. I mean he only has 6 months anyway, don't you think it's kinda selfish to abandon him in his final moments? Without V, her entire family would most likely be dead.

I dunno this is just my opinion, but I would have liked stronger romance options like in the Witcher 3.

Thats the biggest problem with the game. There is no emphaty meter that affects choices/endings, something like Dishonored, but that is another can of worms.
I dont consider V evil, i would even consider V going more towards good side atm of what we have.

Since V is something neutral, getting no neutral ending is pretty shit.

In the "Don't fear the Reaper" ending if you romance Judy she stays with you even though she absolutely hates NC. Which says a lot. I know she leaves after some time but still, she wanted to leave way before and stayed just for V. V abandoned Judy's wish in order to become "The Legend of NC". What an absolute joke. Smasher was a legend and look at him now. Less than 5% human. Silverhand was a legend. Ended up being shot in the head while trying to explode a thermonuclear bomb. Rogue was a legend. She was a emotionally broken person who just lived day after day not enjoying anything. And V becoming the same thing for me is actually vile. That's why I hated the "Don't fear the Reaper" ending.

It is quite stupid ending frankly. Vs goal all the time is to find a cure. Destroys tower, gets 6 months to live and randomly becomes a legend and accepts it. Kind of forgets the cure goal.

Look, I am the first one wanting a happy ending here. You can find my posts around 250 pages ago.

But there is a difference between a happy ending and forcing other people to stick with you.

Why should Panam leave her only family to stay with you in NC, when the best option would be if YOU go with HER?
Why not go with her? What is keeping you? Your reputation?

And why would she prefer V to stick with V no matter the cost at this point of time? This game takes place in around 3 weeks tops, I guess.
You just reached third base with her.

I am also kind of simping for Panam, but you just got to look at the facts for the moment^^

Well Judy also leaves you to die alone. Haven't done her quest line yet so I don't know how much the relationship changes with the different endings.

But that is actually another huge problem with the endings. If you do the solo arasaka attack, which in my opinion is probably the most selfless thing you could do as you don't put anyone at risk and nobody dies, then for some reason you automatically become some arrogant douchbag which only cares about some mythical legendary status. Even though I would argue that solo attacking arasaka already makes you a legendary merc.

Why is there no option to simply leave with Panam or Judy after this ending? Or to just not become some arrogant jerk?

Seems like if you sacrifice the nomads and Saul you become a good guy which leaves with Panam/Judy while if you go solo you become an arrogant jerk which everyone hates and leaves.

Why aren't we given the option to choose what we do after each final mission?

I feel like V going solo and defeating the greatest Empire in NC probably messed V's head a bit. All that fame and legendary status probably made V arrogant. At least that's my head canon :p

I understand that, I was mostly arguing for more characters, not necessarily changing current characters.

I guess I don't really like Panam that much and would have liked a bit more variety.

At the very least I would have liked the option of doing the solo attack ending and then leaving with the nomads...

Sure, but it feels like this personality change should be the type of thing that the player can decide. I mean where are the supposed "choices that matter" in this scenario?
