The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt OST

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt OST

The soundtrack for The Witcher computer game was composed by Adam Skorupa and Paweł Błaszczak. The combo between these two composers was perfect. I find The Witcher 1 OST my favorite in all my life as a proud gamer.
It consists of 29 tracks with the total running time of 73 minutes 13 seconds.

A separate CD, Inspired by The Witcher is sold separately and available with some international editions of the game.
Both soundtracks are included in The Witcher: Enhanced Edition.

The soundtrack for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings computer game was composed by Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz. It was a notable OST but not a memorable one unlike the original. I didn't feel the same while playing the game. It consists of 23 tracks with the total running time of approximately 73 minutes 1 second. Four additional tracks were released through GOG.com.

As you may noticed, Paweł Błaszczak didn't return for The Witcher 2 and that is very sad. I think he is essential.

With music like River of Time from The Witcher 1 (a song composed by Paweł Błaszczak), you can really immerse yourself in the game and the atmosphere. To sum up, we can confirm that The Witcher 1 is a memorable game specially because of its OST.
TW1 definitely has a better soundtrack. I love the music in TW1 a lot more than the music in TW2, even though the music in TW2 is notable.
"Możecie mnie zbluzgać ale wiedźmin 1 ma o wiele lepszy soundtrack (i klimat zresztą) od dwójki".

I don't know if CD Projekt RED has confirmed or not who will be the composers for The Witcher 3. But one thing is clear from all my searches: We users want them to bring back Paweł Błaszczak. If you agree just let CD Projekt RED know it supporting this. I know they are able to give us the perfect Action-RPG... but Paweł Błaszczak needs to return to make that happen (and also Adam Skorupa, for sure).

Just a bit more info:
Paweł Błaszczak has been a passionate enthusiast of game music since 1982, when he bought his Commodore 64 1. He began scoring video games in 1997 and has kept busy ever since. Along with Adam Skorupa, he formed gamesXsound, a music and sound production studio. There they've created music and sound effects for several different computer games, including The Witcher and other media.

What do you think? An open-world game which will give an end to Geralt's Legend needs immersive music specially if you are planning to play it during more than 100 hours. I find the the OST an essential part of this saga and I would love to listen to songs like this again:

River of Life by Paweł Błaszczak

Peaceful Moments by Adam Skorupa

Also I would love them to include these songs (from The Witcher inspired CD which can be found in TW Enhanced Edition) as a personal request (pls CD Projekt, add these two songs to The Witcher 3... do it for your fans!).

Beltaine - Bring to the Boil - It could fit as tavern music, don't you think?
http://youtu.be/3i7g7xeLGi0

Rimead - Sentinels of Brokilon - A very emotional and epic piece! As Credits theme? That would be a dream come true.

Just read the youtube comments. Everyone enjoys those two songs... even haters.

Support this post if you agree with me and want CD Projekt RED to know it. The good taste in music is a must to enjoy videogames, I can tell you that. I really hope CD Projekt RED to read and consider this post.

I like TW2 OST more.

:p Just kidding - everyone's got their own preference.

Anyway, as I've said many times before, I prefer the OST from the first Witcher game and I'd love it if Paweł Błaszczak returned for the finale.

Couldn't find it in official soundtrack so here it is one of my favorite witcher 1 pieces.

Full song ^

And yes, it's absolutely fantastic but also the thing that was missing from TW2.

As ReptilePZ said it is called Old Manor (Kaer Morhen) in the OST. It is a song created by both Adam Skorupa and Pawel Blaszczak from what I know.

I leave you a link to official website of Pawel Blaszczak. Just enter the site and you will listen a piece of music that will make you understand why I think he is a genius and must return for The Witcher 3:

Enjoy Pawel Blaszczak

Same here. The soundtrack in first Witcher game was incredibly great. It was a significant part of game's success. Though the music from Assassin's of Kings was really good, and few tracks simply brilliant, I was a little disappointed. Listening the score and playing the game made me nearly convinced that Geralt has been moved to the totally different world with different culture.
First Witcher was fully based on Slavic culture which is quite hermetic and idyllic and that's exactly what we hear in the game score, whereas the W2 had more pompous story and was intended to show it to the gamers all around the world so many things was changed and designed as digestible for everyone.

As I remember CDPRED got their feedback about the score after release of the Assassins of Kings, so I hope that we will get wonderful compositions in W3.

Did I just say 'I hope'? I'm certain that we will. :)

Witcher needs more songs to witch one only need to open can of beer, sit on the hill with windy weather and just chill.

That's just what I think. Considering it will be open-world and a very long game with large zones to explore is necessary to have an inspired composer like Pawel Blaszczak:

"What is music for you?
When I hearing and composing..
I can touch the sky.
Dance onto the morning.
Fight for the last breath.
Day after day is going easier.
all is more beatiful
I fell free"...
by Pawel Blaszczak

I also found and interview related to him:

Agree. The Witcher 1 is a melancholic game which gives me chills. Something I cannot say about The Witcher 2 even being a great sequel and an excellent game. The OST didn't felt that immersive in the second entry of the saga.

The Witcher 1's ost was way more original and atmospheric, being good or not according to taste, it had a clear different aura compared to ost from other fantasy games.

Instead The Witcher 2's ost was again, either good or bad, but it was much more traditional, similar to usual ost.

I liked both a lot, but TW1's music was something else that set the game apart from others.

I have to mention though, that the combat music from TW2 in my opinion was a lot better than for TW1, it was more on the "common" side like i said for the rest of the ost, but it gave much more rythm and mood for a fight.

Just one thing:
Together with Adam Skorupa, Pawel co-composed the widely acclaimed The Witcher OST with the IGN Award - Best Soundtrack 2007 - RPG Game among others.

I just wanted you to know it. I respect your taste. But The Witcher 1 OST fits better to an open-world game rather than TW 2, don't you think?

Do you remember these ones?

That's what I call epic battle themes!

To be fair, TW2 had some really cool battle scores too:

But I agree, TW1's combat music was very good as well, just not the highlight of the OST for me.
