Triss Merigold of Maribor (All Spoilers) Resurgence

It doesn't change the fact Merge was a "monster" who should be killed. And his death is right thing to do. And it's exactly what saladin1701 is referring to in his post. Yeah, she was mad at him because he was responsible for death of many of her friends. It's normal to hate this kind of characters. Nothing wrong with this. Or you think Triss don't have right to be mad like she is some kind of saint who forgives everything's no matter what peoples do?!

Yes, you're right but that's still not WHY she did it in the first place. She did it without thinking because she was mad.

And your opinion that she was mad only because of being tortured herself, and not because of the countless other mages that were tortured and killed (of which she may even have had a nice view from her house at Hierarch Square) by Menge's witch hunters, is based on exactly what, other than bias against the character ? She is also mad at the agent at first (but does not kill him in the end), even if not tortured at all.

I didn't say that she wasn't right to kill him. I didn't say that it wasn't the right thing to do. It was, maybe, why not.
I'm just saying that she wasn't thinking about consequences when she did it. She wasn't thinking at all really. She did it out of anger and revenge and she jeopardized everything Geralt was doing to find Ciri in the process.
I didn't say that I hated Triss for doing it either by the way, it's actually one of the few scenes in the whole game in which I really liked her.

no, my geralt is just faithful

There is one way to stay faithful throughout the Witcher games - same choice in all three of them. ;) And who knows, maybe she even has a spell to transform into (or conjure) a succubus.

She wasn't thinking at all really. She did it out of anger and revenge and she jeopardized everything Geralt was doing to find Ciri in the process.

Actually, that is not true. She waits until Menge gives away the information about Dandelion (which is what is needed to find Ciri), and even asks Geralt to confirm that he was told Dandelion's location before killing Menge. She only jeopardizes Geralt's chances of finding Dijkstra's treasure, which she never deemed important. Edit: it is true that Geralt then says about Menge being needed in person to release Dandelion, but it is not like he would have done that anyway at that point, and confrontation was unavoidable if Geralt wanted to leave with Triss.

There are a lot of things Triss does in games not because of it's right thing to do. And simplifying her game character to this ideal goody character is very interesting trait among many players. I even don't want to repeat all those "bad" things she done in the game as it was discussed in this thread not once :) Your conception of Triss as "Someone who does the right thing precisely because it's the right thing to do" isn't right. Maybe it's conception of Triss you want to see but definitely not Triss from The Witcher games.

The point I'm making is simply that I thought Yen wasn't handled in a way that endeared her to a player who has never read the books, so has no preconceptions of what kind of character she is. In short, Yennefer came across as a bitch, Triss did not. Much earlier on I felt Triss was presented as more complex as opposed to Yennefer being a control freak and feel that the writers could have done a better job with her. It's a critique of the writing for Yen, not the character of Yen and is in reference solely to the third game, not prior games.

Because of what had happened between them with Geralt, I feel it was a missed opportunity by the writers to delve in to the personalities of both women. As it was, the entire thing was swept under the carpet and neither character was sufficiently fleshed out enough to do them justice.
