Are you hoarding Crowns too?

And so a couple weeks after The Witcher 3 release I figured out the bottle man scam (thats what i call it). After collecting a bunch of loot and Geralt is near or overburdened I go to bottle man in Novigrad because he pays max coin for most items. This has become so tedious going in and out of the items menu purchasing thousands and thousands of bottles so he can have the coin to buy my loot. Then i take my bottles to the Loan Shark also in Novigrad and
re-sell the bottles.

Now this has gained me a ton of crowns (149K), but it has also taken hours and hours of my time...ugh. So basically I feel like a crown hoarder knowing
full well I won't spend that many crowns.

Have any of you become a crown hoarder as well?

yes i have 30k even after getting all the schems and formulas

im hoarding in waiting the gamble machine implemented in the next fabulous patch 1.07 (release: soon)

thanks for asking

Have to admit on my first play though I scammed the bottle man like crazy, did the pearl trick while it lasted, farmed cow chorts, bought the loan sharks florins & repeatedly hit monster nests for all they were worth. I ended up with a gazillion coins & to stop the game taking my coins back at 65.000 I bought countless rare jewels. Must have ended up with well over half a million or so enough to completely realize my ambition of renovating Kaer Morjan & turning it into Witcher World a casino/resort serving the good people of Novigrad & Velen.

No hoarding. It just so happens to pile up as I sell my crap. And it's spelled "Kaer Morhen" to those that care.

You got trolled dude. There is no reason do spend time on that 1 bottle = 1 crown bs. Money is not a problem in this game and I know people who do that bottle-man thing and I just laugh at them. What a waste of time. Money is not a problem in witcher 3 and when you get to skellige you will know just how much time you wasted on buying bottles.
Just loot chests while you're doing quests and you'll have 50 long before you're half way through the game.

Sorry Im not trying to be an asshole here, but what you guys are doing is really stupid and pointless.

I agree on all accounts.

Dude. There's a guy in my clan who does this. I think he spent like a week and he ended up with idk like 40k. By that time I had twice that and had actual fun with quests. Im gonna tell you guys what I told him... You did the impossible, you managed to play witcher 3 the wrong way.

Should be like a trophy for that. You just earned a trophy "You're doing it wrong"

Bottles? You can easily earn 2000 orens only with honey and plants and flowers are at every step, even in cities. Why are you complicating your life this way? Not mention that treasures make you rich in very few hours. If you don't accumulate a big wealth in TW3 is because you don't want :p

Something wrong happened here....

PS. Nvr mind, you fixed it.

I stopped picking stuff up which I wont equip ie(no junk loot or swords and armor which I wont use). And I find myself rich for a witcher, but Geralt is no ordinary witcher is he...

btw got 30 after bough all schemes & formulas but i think i got a gigantic amount in various rare alchemy/artisan stuff like diamonds, emeralds, dimeritium, impossiblium, golden goats tongue etc... should spend all that in passiflora.

on your next play-through you should try it without the bottle-man thing and see that you end up with just as much money.
Im getting ready for a 4th playthrough.. even though I allready have the platinum I still wanna play more, but Im waiting for the patch.

i think the most ive had might of been around 13k after i beat the gwent tournament. i barely buy anything.

Thats strange. When you do treasure hunts you should loot chests.. you also get a lot of money from selling items you loot from specters you killed. 13 should take you 2 hours to get while doing side-quests.

You can get tons of cash (on death march) even without the bottle man; just need to know what to sell to whom. Vellen smiths, for example, pay only about 50% for armor and weapons compared to Novigrad and Oxenburg smiths. Get an early access to Novigrad and Oxenburg and you will be swimming in cash in no time. There is also the harpy diagram (a level 37 silver sword) which you can find around level 5-6. Ingredients for Harpy are common loot and the sword sells to the city smiths for 1280. Currently I am level 25 and I have 60K in the bank + I've bought every single alchemy recipe and smith diagram I have come across. So, nothing really to spend that cash on.

Oh yeah and dont forget to convery your currency into crown in the bank. If you're level 15 and you never did that you're sitting on a gold-mine.

Beat the game already, no more side quests. Looting doesnt really get me much of anything unless its armor or weapons. Sometimes I'll go and sell the stuff but most of the time i pass on it. I dont really care about how much money i have at this point because if I find better gear while looting, it kind of negates the purpose of buying gear from merchants.

Although, the treasure hunt's that I havent dont yet do have weapons and gear that are to scale with my level, I still dont bother picking some of the items up. I'm like 2 points away from being overburdened.
