On a statistical note, you're right, Skullcowboy, but there is a big but: The critical hits are a certain chance to have a critical hit (which you will also get with talents/abilities), meaning that while you fight a strong oponent, you might cause a critical hit which will result in a continuos damage, or you might not. With the "three red", there is also the chance, but you will get the 40% extra damage on every hit. This means, you will do the same damge with 5 hits as you would do with 6 hits with the standard sword. For example, if you want to specialise in signs and not in sword skills, this extra damage might be responsible for your survival because you can bring the opponent down faster. If you want more continuos damage, I would go for a blast of igni, because, if you spent your talents right, it will allways do that damage, where the sword might do. If you ignore the signs, a combination of different ores or the "three yellow" might be better. From my experience with "three red" and Harvall, "three red" makes these battles easier. I tried "hunting and diplomacy" with Harvall and died several times, when I did it with "three red", I got through - barely (okay, my biggest problem might have been that I always was also attacked by kikimore warriors instead of only salamandra). It is a thing of personal favour, and for me it is "three red".Stacking of critical effects? If you mean if it is possible that an opponent can suffer from several different critical hits, definitly yes. I had fight in which monsters had effects from pain, bleeding and inceneration (from igni) at the same time. If you mean several effects from - i.e. "three yellow" at the same time (meaning the same hit), I don't know, but I guess not. It would make it to powerfull, if you compare the effects of the harder to get unique swords you can have at the end of the game.
