Help Me Figure Out the New Equipment in 3.0
Greetings,
I am at a bit of a loss, as I am trying to figure out how all these new items added to the game, fit into the gear progression. I need to decipher these things in order to know what I should do with them while updating my mod, CEO, for the latest version of TW2. Many of these items I already noticed within the files, back in the 2.0 update (addition of Dark Mode), but already then they seemed to be separate from the then-new Dark items (which have their own entries). My guess is that they had not been implemented in the game at all, yet. Now, however, they have (most of them) been given a unique mesh and texture, leading me to believe that they now have been fully integrated into the game, in one way or another. Also, they each seem to have been given their own crafting diagram, as well.
So, please, if anyone who is further along in the Enhanced Edition of the game than I am - and who might even be playing Dark Mode - have figured out where you are supposed to get these items, let me know. Below I will list what I have found, and I will specify which acts in the game they seem to be intended for. Keep in mind that these will be reference names, and the in-game display may appear different.
***EDIT***
Alright, the mod has been done. I feel a bit silly for not doing this to begin with, as looking at the items in the shop allows you to at least see which items are not "complete" and therefore not likely to be found lying around anywhere. Simply doing that, I can tell right away that many of the items I listed are just place-holders, and have incomplete entries. I'll attach the mini-mod to this post, for those of you who want to take a look, yourselves; it adds all the "new" items to the Mysterious Merchant (all acts), so make sure you have that DLC enabled before trying it out. As I suspected, many resource names carry completely different in-game names. I'll try to list what I've found so far. Entries marked with a * are "broken" in one way or another (missing tooltip icon, equip_template, price or what have you) and therefore unlikely to actually be in the game. Also, some of these names are amusing when you compare resource to in-game names...
REPORTS SO FAR:
Marag Bator (Marag Bator) - Diagram found randomly in Chapter 1. Link Link
Phantom Edge (Wight) - Diagram found randomly in Chapter 1. Link
Dancing Blade (Dancer) - Sword itself found in a chest in a cave during the Chapter 3 quest "Crown Witness." (My own find.)
Master Dualist Gloves (Duelist's Gauntlets) - Diagram found in a crate in the forest, during the Chapter 3 quest "Crown Witness." (My own find.)
Mongoose Gloves (Mongoose Gauntlets) - Diagram found in the Nekker cave outside Flotsam, in Chapter 1. Link
Werewolf Trophy (Werewolf Trophy) - Found on a Werewolf in a cave in the forest, during the Chapter 3 quest "Crown Witness." (My own find.)
Wild Hunt Huberk (Wild Hunt Armor) - Diagram found in the Elven Baths in Chapter 1 as well as the Nekker Cave in Chapter 1. Link Link 2
Dragonbreath Sabatons (Basilisk Boots) - Diagram found in the Elven Baths in Chapter 1. (My own find.)
Lion Spider Boots (Lionhead Spider Boots) - Diagram found in the Nekker Cave in Chapter 1. Link
