Homosexual Relations In The Witcher 3

There is no space for some fight for equality of homosexuals. I cannot imaginate many more unsuitable games like Witcher. This fight during the "Middle Ages" would seem to me like a very bad joke. All main characters are also predefined, so there is not much to discuss about. And there are also not-just-heterosexual good characters, who are well presented and no one cares much about their orientation (Philippa).

If someone feels there should be some fight like this, what about fight for rights of animals and against cruetly to them? Or another absolutely inappropriate topic for medieval time..?

About male/male and female/female scenes. That's not hypocritical. Just like homosexuals say they were 'born like that', many (maybe majority) of other people look differently on m/m than f/f relations ships, just by their nature. Two girls together are just sexy, two men together are just gay. I cannot help myself, many of my friens feel the same and when we cannot help ourself especialy homosexuals should undestand it.

Also if someone has problem with not seeing totally naked man having sex, he should aim his efforts on politicians and laws, not on devs.

Though I believe in this day and age if you're going to have naked women in a game you ought to have naked men as well.

Just my thought on having naked men: I don't see how dicks = breasts. We never see a vagina so I don't understand why we should suddenly have penises flailing about.

I think Geralt is straight and that shouldn't be changed.

But I also think that some of the arguments here against adding homosexual NPCs are dumb as hell.

"But it's not the witcher's books!" Do you know what else isn't in the books? Dryads having sex. In fact, the books specficially state that dryads DON'T do that. Since the games decided to change this just for the sake of fanservice, why shouldn't they add homosexuality? Because it doesn't appeal to the homophobes?

"But none of the characters in the books are queer!" Except Ciri, Philippa, Triss... And then there's the fact that most characters in the games are original characters, who were never in the books and were made from scratch. So why the hell not make a homosexual character?

"But why is it wrong to have evil homos?" Because the Witcher doesn't exist in a void. I encourage you to atch a documentary "The Celluloid Closet" which describes the portrayal of homosexual characters in the media over the last few decades. They're all evil. Imagine someone produced a movie where everyone of your ethnicity is evil, wouldn't you consider it a prejudiced piece of s*it? But when it's gays, it's suddenly alright? Yeah, right.

"But the witcher's world is homophobic!" The witcher's world is also misogynist and non-humanphobic, yet that doesn't stop CDPR from putting women and nonhumans in the game.

"But you shouldn't change the existing franchise!" WTF, in what way is adding a homosexual NPC a major change to the franchise?

What's more, I find it ironic and hypocritical that the game which portrays prejudice against the nonhumans as bad is itself too prejudiced to put positive, or at least neutral gay characters and non-white characters (before you say anything - there are black people mentioned in the books, so they do exist in the witcher's world). It's like the message goes "Prejudice against creatures that don't exist is bad, but prejudice against real people with real problems is ok!"

Dude, most of what you've said is either wrong or you misunderstood what other people have said.

Voted I'd save the gays.
Because nobody deserves to be killed for their love preference.

But yeah umm.. what's next?
Geralt joining a feminist movement to stop the objectification of wymin?

I've read an article about priests going on videogames to try to "spread the Gods religion" and i won't be surprised if this is some gay trying to do the same thing with the gay topic...

Freixenet disagrees with you.

This kind of things makes me replan my tolerance and respect...

Are you going to complain in every book or film that doesnt have well aproved gay content? Not, isn't it? Ok, so dont do it with a game that is almost a film in the way it shows you a really complex plot.

If you want to do whatever you want with your character buy bioware's games (I dont have anything against, in fact I played Mass Effect, and I really like it), but don't intend to do the same with The Witcher, It's just diffent kind of games...

It's like if you were complaining cause the Harry Potter's games dont have gay option!

No offense, but I'm quite tired of this kind of debates...

I guess you overlooked the fact that the witcher series does have gay content. It is in no way non-existent in the universe.

Some posts have been edited . Look guys this forum is open to ALL people regardless of the personal preferences . Let`s not place slanderous labels on them . Additionally please keep religious posts out of the equation .

Finally someone paying attention and actually responds to my point. Thank you very much. It is great to have another who understands what I'm talking about and makes a valid case.

But most of his arguments are actually invalid. I could elaborate more on this but it's Sunday and I'm in no mood for making long posts.

Actually some of the points he's talking about are absolute nonsense.

I don't mind having such relations in the game, as long as it isn't out of political correctness
or to broaden the target audience. It has to make sense in context of the story.

With Geralt it wouldn't make sense.
With other characters maybe. That is up to CDPR to decide.

I just don't want it to turn into a Bioware game where everyone sleeps with every gender.
Because I like characters that have a will of their own, characters which don't come across as
puppets put in the game solely for the players pleasure.

I would implore you to point out where he/she is wrong. (Though I can't comment on the Dryads)

Points 1, 3 & 4 mainly.

The reasons for 3 & 4 have been voiced out several times during this thread so I'm not gonna repeat them.

As for 1. Just read The Sword of Destiny short story. It proves his point false.
