[Mod Request] E3 Hud

+
Old radial menu, icons of items look more witchet style. It would be great if you could make mod that changes it.

mmm is it also possible to extract the map and the minimap, recolor it to something similar to e3 and cook it?

Yeh, probably some leftovers. Also, looking through that file I think I found the font that was used in the E3 demo, should be this one: https://www.download-free-fonts.com/...-std-condensed

http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2287/? This guy changed the font in-game, might be worth to try and ask him. I'll try it.

Edit: He is called 12ain, and he actually posted the guide how to do it. (Credits to him of course)

You will need to learn how to uncook and cook files, and that's complicated enough. Youtube can best assist you in that regard. Once you have got that part figured out, do the following:

1) Download the Morpheus font and install it onto your PC.
21) Uncook the "fonts_en.redswf" file from "contents" folder, path: gameplay\gui_new\swf\witcher3 and unlock it. Remark: Check the option for uncook swf files too. Or download from here already uncooked.
3) Download the free software JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler.
4) Change filename "fonts_en.redswf" to "fonts_en.red.swf" and open it with JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler.
5) There are three flavors in game (normal, italic and bold). Click on the "Embed..." button to replace the font. Select Uppercase, Lowercase, Puntuaction, Numerals & Latin and then check the box: "Update texts". Make sure you understand, only embed uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numerals, and punctuation and latin characters. If the new file is too large, the game won't read it.

Edit: BTW I have 2 question about GUI 1) Is it possible to add to immersive meditation mod such window for it?

Am I wrong or the meditation background (clock) in that picture is the same I found here http://imgur.com/paEfBvT ?

EDIT: linaswas_001 I quickly tried that font I found in game and it does look similar but there's something different, don't know what though.

Probably yes. The tricky part is to find the map. I've been roaming the game files for some time now but haven't found it. I suspect it somewhere in "levels" but i won't bet on it. Maybe someone with more knowledge in this regard can have a look

Holyy shit @Hyadum great finds man! those files just gave this whole project so much more feasibility.

Man this thread is making me so happy, I've been hoping a modder more skilled than me would look into trying to recapture the e3 GUI/Inventory/Map, I'm so damn psyched to see this gaining some momentum.

Could you still make it as mod and share it on nexus?

Alright, I'll make it quickly and post it on Nexus.

I also tried another font that I think looks more like E3 than the other one.
(Check "LADIES OF THE WOOD" with the E3 picture posted in the beginning of the thread for comparison)

This is the one I found inside the file: http://imgur.com/aWNgaDC

This is the one I think looks better: (font Eurostile Roman DTC) http://imgur.com/3dNebSZ

Which one do you prefer? Or should I post both?

Thanks man! Hopefully someone can make something out of it! :)

Lol, probably not gonna happen XD I have no idea how to modify swf files to change hud modules. The best I can is probably changing the font and maybe color of the map (that is IF we find where the hell the file is located.) I only managed to find the wold map texture (the one you use to change region). But who knows :)

Holy crap! Not only that but all those icons for armor and other stuff from inventory are still there.

I kinda like the first one better (the one in the file that is).

Maybe we should link some more modders into the mix to take a look at it and possibly help out, guys like erxv , essenthy , skacikpl , Capa, Mezziaz.

The Fonts look very nice but they are pretty big in some occasions. When a quest is updated half of the screen is covered in letters. is changing the size possible?

Btw i guess the path >gameplay>gui_new>swf>worldmap leads to the worldmap. Im failing to properly uncook the gamefiles for some reason so i can't access the file but there may be a hint where to find the individual maps.

PS: When i uncook the files i can access the folder gui_new but there is a dead end for me. What am i doing wrong? I can browse further when i use the Bundle explorer in sarcens modeditor but uncooking the files just gives me a little percentage of all files.

doesn't really matter the outcome is the same. directly using the wcc_lite and command line or using modkitchen
