What would you like to see in expansion or sequel

+
I want the game world to be big enough to get lost in. I am tired of games where there is absolutely no way to get off the road and check out the nearby woods or ruins. Games where you are literally led by the nose from one built in encounter to the next. I want a game world where you can say, "That forest seems to have a wierd glow over it. Think I'll go check it out." And a game that les you do just that.

I wasnted to write it for long time but i always forgotten it. So now i remmembered. Gerald should be Meditate/Sleep whereever he wants with some wood with him, but sleeping on street isnt that safe. Like sleeping in forest at wolf cave and wakeing up next morning complitely healthy. While your sleeping you could get robbed, some items could be broken or you could get ill/poisoned or even get killd. It was like that in some old game named Might and Magic VII - IX. Those were my favorite games for time when they were relised. They were awesome RPGs for that time. Also there should be some hidden caves, crypts and other stuff. Like pulling sicret lever or just push wall. Also in newest mode there was trowing knifes... why cant Gerald trow axes, daggers or even swords. That would make that item broke and disapear but theres alot of daggers droped from Thugs, Salamenders etc.Sorry for my English once again.Tom.

Aww addition to my previous post:I'd like to have more decision possibilities like in these trailers:http://www.gametrailers.com/player/7911.htmlhttp://www.gametrailers.com/player/11348.html

what I didnt like about this game is the way you cannot move in a straight line for no real reason, especially in the swamp. if the game wants to block my way it should tell me why. in the swamp there are so many invisible barriers it just isnt fun. if you want to make me follow a specific course, you could at least use graphics that show water too deep to wade through or directly build walls/fences/whatever...further i would like the game to be more stable, but that has greatly improved with the ee, so thanks for that freebie ;)

i agree that the swamp was particularly frustrating when i was not familiar with the map and layout ... as were the fields / murky waters ... i do prefer completely open geography, but it's a minor quibble for me, but it would be a nice feature in a sequel :peace:

was a minor quibble for me, too, but still if you want to know what i would like, open geography is it.and i loved the way the designers thought about placing the monoliths in the swamp (arrangement according to tree of life). So this attention to detail would be very much appreciated in a sequel, too.

There should be a bit more realism. The original was very realistic and they should build on that so Geralt can do the small things like climbing over small objects for a shortcut and such stuff. There shouldn't e any jump keys or anything he just does it normally (like in assassins creed when you hold down a button he jumps and climbs and whatever except u dont hold down a key). And he could be able to smith the sword. He might have only one but he can maybe specialise it in a style or so it does more damage to a specific enemy. Keep the storyline that is very good the game wouldn't be here if it wasn't for a story. You should have companions and be able to backtrack to previous places (Maybe a map transition like in Neverwinter Nights 2).I don't know how this next idea would be but maybe have multiple endings that lead to the same thing eg. if your evil you might get stronger then the bad guy and kill him, but if youre good then he would beat you in the end but friends come and finish off him when he's weakened.

More or less Geralt is already able to smith his swords. That are the temporary runestones, diamant dust, grindstone and whetstone and maybe the oils as well ;)And yes you are right... as we all are able to jump and climb Geralt could do that as well

I can do without companions-Geralt is badass enough that they would probably just get in the way, and he already has shown a tendency to not want to bring others into his battles (Dandelion in Ch. 3 and 5, Triss at the end). What I would like to see is reasons to use weapons besides Geralt's swords. Not being able to use fighting styles really makes any other weapons you find useless. I would also like to see unique models for EVERY character in the game (I know this one will be tough, but I'd still like to see it). Finally, I would like some kind of ending to the romantic subplot. Listening to Geralt and Triss talk about settling down was great, but I'd like to see them actually DO it (if that path is chosen of course).

Well they DID put out the EE, and with all of the dialogue changes, additional textures, and two new mini-adventures they probably put as much work or more as they would put into a normal sequel. Plus, the fact that they took the time to make the EE at all indicates that they care about the game, so I'm pretty optimistic about sequels.

Давай сюда :)http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=5535.105Sorry for writing russian here :peace:

Finished the game yesterday. Loved every single bit of it. The Witcher is the best fantasy RPG I've played since Baldur's Gate II. I'm planning to play the game again and sit was the first time since long that I have those feeling towards a game. So, I would really like to see a sequel, especially considering the fact that the first game leaves lot of threads open and the final cutscene is a cliffhanger. My view on a possibile sequel:- Less respawn during daytime. If a player wants to grind for levels, he should be able to do so, but maybe he could go for monster's hunting during the nightime. It's not funny to fight over and over again the same monsters in certain areas imho.- Revamped inventory: more and filterable slot.- Les travelling back and fort and more point of teletrasportation like those in chapter III: maybe Gerald could have a teletrasportation Singn to develop, aimed to manage more efficiently his travelling.- More montsters and most of all more unique monsters.-More companions that fight with Geralt during the course of the story.Bye,F.

I think both are too restless to settle down. Geralt is not that type of man to become a farmer or a steady job in a town. And Triss.... hmmm :hmmm: she is a strong and independing woman who wants to have influence on many things. Can't imagine that she settles down as well.

I suppose he could settle down with Shani and then get attacked by some hired blades which makes him go mad and run across the world slaying monsters once again ;D

Those of you who dislike the idea of not always being able to move in a straight line in the swamp/forest must not have spent much time in the woods. There the fastest way to get from one point to another is almost never a straight line. I like the idea of it being the same way in the game.

1. Most importantly, I would LOVE to have the ability to import the endstate of Witcher 1 into the sequel, (Geralt's choices, ties, emotional relationships, etc.) I put a lot of time into developing them and think it would be a great idea to carry him on from there. Of course, one could always start fresh if they wanted to, but the ability to carry some of this over into a sequel would be nice.2. Smaller things would be better play balance/quest structure, etc. I'd like to have more of the better "perks"--swords, etc. available before the end of the game so there'd be more gameplay to use them in. Like I mentioned, I'd have preferred the armor quest about mid chapter 3 instead of chapter 5. And the final quests really should be the hardest, no matter what your skills. Hehe, right now, once you're baptised by fire against The Beast early on, the rest is really kind of downhill, fightwise. Actually from my varied post readings, longer cooldowns on signs, higher toxicity for Tawney Owl, might help that a bit. And come on, the signs are the one of the coolest things about being a witcher, so "not using them" is just kind of dumb. :D3. Even smaller things... If I can take stuff out of containers, why can't I put stuff into them? At least for a period of time. Secondly, it kills me, watching all those great, lootable weapons go to waste and fade away on the ground when they could be making me much-needed gold early on. Why not some kind of stackable weapon slot to carry them. Maybe tie it to a reduced fighting ability if Geralt is walking around carrying all those swords and axes? As it stands now, they're all just wasted and that seems like a shame. That's it. I said it would be brief. ;)

IMHO the swamp worked just fined ==== living in the Northeast USA we have swamps and it was just like being in them hunting ------------------- looks can be decieving when your out their in the water and trees etc. ------ so I was right at home If we could have another weapon the only thing I think we really would need would be the chain I think that would be fun [ If you remember Zelda with the boomarang ] other than that Geralt is a swordmen All in all The Witcher is about as real as life as far as I'm concernedAs far as a wide open game ======== even life isn't wide open as we would like it to be -----------------
