Where's the Order of the Flaming Rose? And Siegfried?

I'd like to know what happened to them. If the Witch Hunters replaced their role, why did CDPR do this? What reason would they have of going against their lore?

In the books there was no Order of the Flaming Rose. It is only in the games.

You do not need trained knights to search for witches, either in the city, or in the wilderness. The knights are military elite. All this heavy armor would just slow them down, and they do not have training in this kind of work. Witch Hunters are like police, not marines. They are lightly armed, more of a scout type for mobility, and they are obviously trained in tracking, interrogation, and dealing with magic-users. Armored knights are a major heavy cavalry Radovid has, and so their place is on the battlefield. I would be really buffled if it were the knights in full armor who would wander in the swamps, and knock on the doors.

The order is only active in Temeria, not in Redania or Novigrad. And after the incidents in Witcher 1 the order pretty much lost its significance.

Actually post W1, Radovid picked the Order up and started using them, they were basically his escort at Loc Muinne.
Also, apparently, they own lands in Redania (according to W2 map):

I want to add that the order isn't a complete invention of the games. It's based on the order of the white rose which was already present in the books.

@Kinley
Yeah, you're right. So it's indeed a bit weird that they don't appear in TW3.

Yep, there's a book in the Witcher 3 which explains that Jacques de Aldersberg came out of nowhere, became their leader, and turned the order into the Order of the Flaming Rose.

I imagine the order went to the front lines in the war and took heavy casualties. The noblest knights died, and the more cruel and cowardly among them survived. Now those who remain are the core of the witch hunters.

I think that they fights in east front (in Kaedwen) . And I hope to see them in Hearth of stone (mention at least)

Radovid granted them lands near Tretogor and trey building a new castle called Barienmurg. In The Witcher 2, Siegfried said that soon Geralt will hear about it.

And not a single thing about them heard in the third game. Like if they wanished somewhere completely.

But it is indeed a Bit weird, that Radovid used them to turn Tables in Loc Muinne and now they are nowhere to be Seen. Also: I Killed Siegfried. I would be happy with a short explanation for their whereabouts.. no actual appearance.

This is what I also just assumed must have happened.

It's kind of weird that the writers remembered to put little notes from Jacques, Azar Javed etc, and yet didn't remember the group that was such a major part of Witcher 1, and even remained fairly relevant in W2. I would have been happy with just some random journal from a Order Knight somewhere in Velen (If they were pushed into the battle/s) describing some events pertaining to the order post-Loc Muinne. I absolutely did not expect to see Siegfried, or any Order Knight for that matter, but I figured they'd at least get a mention.

But I guess in a game this massive, stuff like that can easily be glossed over, I understand that, and the Order disappearing doesn't really have much of a bearing on anything.

Maybe could some of you ask Momot on twiter like : Please can you say what is with Order ? I do so but you know more man can do more

I killed Siegfried in Witcher 1, I dont remember much but after dealing with Jacque de Aldersberg dont you get rid of the order of the flaming rose alltogether?

TW1 : A.) Sided with the Order and buddy with Sigfired. B.) Sided with the Scoiatel and kill Sigfried.
TW2 : Meet with the Order's survivals who get pardon by Radovic in Loc Muine. What happen in Loc Muine if the choice we make in TW1.

In TW1, I sided with Scoiatel, and definitely had to force killed Sigfried. So in TW2, when we close to the Order's camp, there's no talking but the Order are attacking us before saying "TRAITOR" in the first time.
What happen if I choose to side with the Order and save Sigfired, did he appear in TW2 in the order camp ? And did he survive the onslaught in Loc Muine fire ?

Yeah he will be in camp as Grandmaster and SPOILER: he will escort you, roche & anais from kaedweni camp SPOILEREND and yeah lot of knights survive Loc Muine (you can see them with Redans behind Radovid) so yeah Grandmaster Siegfried too
